c242: that's precisely the point. I don't feel forced to buy the Plus version at all, just like I never saw any reason to buy CXP+. But, on the other hand, an ODNT+ including OD and CXP and anything to come would feel much more interesting. I'm definitely not taking out my credit card just for dock tabs (no matter how handy it can be to have tabs on all my desktop's side, like that OS9 feature I forget the name of). No matter how good OD+ is, many people won't be willing to fork out $15

I think an everything-you-can-download(-but-games) ODNT Plus could be quite the good idea. But if you want to market it at $99, you better have big projects in the works at Stardock. In my opinion, what would make most sense commercially would be to have an ODNT Light around $30-40 (with only the essentials: WB, WFX, IP, whatever you find acceptable to release for that price) and the full ODNT between $75 and $100. But I don't know how feasible it would be to get existing ODNT customers

I remember when Stardock bought CursorXP['s developer] and the excuse was "First, this is not software that was developed in-house Second, it's only eye-candy, ObjectDesktop is about helping productivity". Just one little thing that would be nice: being able to browse directories for icons, instead of scanning every subdirectory each time you want to change an icon. The icons window is quite a pain now that I have lots of icons, and it became completely unusable (and occasionally crashed) when I put png's in there.

One thing would be great: having ObjectDock respond to Alt-Tab. Feels weird to see all the beautiful icons down there, and then when I want to use Alt-Tab I have the old ugly ones again, so I have to memorize two icons for each running program

I don't think anybody has said that it was morally wrong to use Trillian. We only said that it's not morally wrong for AOL to protect their servers. I don't know the reason why AOL doesn't prevent alternate clients from using ICQ, but there might be one. It seems that they can modify the AIM protocol and, still, let all the old AIM versions work; it may very well be technically impossible with the old versions of ICQ that are around, so maybe "protecting" ICQ servers would require asking
