still working on it corky. dragonmage: not normally, no. I have my xp install disk in there, just in case something needs to be fixed. This is not that kind of a slow down. This is a really bad, bad thing
ok i'll try it funny thing... I thought that since I thought it was explorer messing up, I'll just go into litestep. Came up great. As soon as i tried to access 'my computer'....phhhtt Thanks and i'll get back to you. (it is booting up abnormally slow at the moment.
Hi all, My computer has been freezing lately, probably some connection on the motherboard. I think I fixed that part of it, but... During one session, it froze a number of times very quickly. During reboots, during ad-aware and virus checking sessions, etc. It seems that now anything in the explorer *process* is verrrrrryyyyyy slow. Sys tray refreshes are slow, taskbar refreshes are slow, opening the start panel, opening windows explorer.exe (it loads quickly, but n
thank you sir. you are the update king
thanks for the update on the update this is a very well written application.
boy something happened to my original post. this is supposed to be about installing vista without a DVD....but your answers appear to belong in a different thread? did something get mixed up? The original answers in my thread aren't here anymore. lol...ok, now my post is not in the thread I posted it in. how fun sorry for the hijack.
What if I *build* a new machine which is vista capable? Do I get a coupon? Doubt it.

Kevin_C I hope you are right. I've upgraded my XP machine and I don't care about activation, but I would care about re-buying a license
Instant, you are correct. More information is coming out about this and it seems that you have a total of 3 installs available (including a transfer to a third party.) From what I have been reading though, MS is really going to lock down activation. Let's say you buy a low end-ish computer, one you think will be able to handle the "Vista experience" and you later decide you really need to upgrade, you will be able to install vista again after you have upgraded, but you are stu
Remember all the hullaballoo when XP came out in regards to having to re-activate when a major hardware change was made? Remember that it all turned out to be a relative non-issue? Not anymore. It sounds as though we get to activate Vista once. Right now anyway. I sincerely hope that we can change our hardware without having to re-license the OS. WWW Link
maybe it costs so much because the green is actually pure emeralds
WWW Link Don't know what else to say
I really like Ubuntu. I've never had any problems on my machine ever, although have had some on older machines. I really love the names they give the various releases. Hoary Hedgehog indeed
I've been around for many years and still have the one year award I should have a bunch of 'em. DM you should have a couple yourself
I've got a Zen Micro. When I use Creative Media Explorer, the sync times are blazing. When I use WMP11, it takes a very long time. Does anyone know how to speed that up? I spent about 45 minutes browsing/searching around in the knowledge base, but no luck. Thanks David
Axialis Icon Workshop is probably your best bet. WWW Link
you can google artist-album name and go to google images, find one that is reasonably large and just copy that image from there and paste it onto the WMP cover art.
keikonium, I could kiss you that's the one indeed. Thanks so much.
does anyone know what the name/location of the following? It is a flat, totally clear windowblind, seems like it had a fairly large titlebar, the start menu is clear, task bar is clear. I think it had a fairly high rating. It is not ecliz delux (which is a nice looking skin, now that I can see it in its full glory <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" bord
Ok, I would have never thought of that. Just pick the skin and it asks you LOL. It looks very nice on my Radeon 7200. Going to try out some of the totally clear skins This is so cool....thanks so much for doing this. I'm not going to be able to afford a new graphics card for awhile.
Thanks for posting the info. I almost gave up on alt-desk getting updated
When I looked at the 'history' of the new beta, I just about fainted. Per pixel support for non supported cards!!!!!!???????? Where is the option...it says "It means you can enable the option to attempt to use per pixel effects on hardware/driver combinations that do not claim to be able to support it." How do I enable that??? Oh please, oh please, oh please.
