Ok, so it's not the greatest job in the world, but it's a start. Today I interviewed for a position in a telecommunications call center. While it's a pretty low level position, it's a start. and it does pay a little better than average for this area. I just got to Florida on Monday evening and here it is Wednesday and I got hired. Happened quicker than I expe

Some folks can't put aside their personal and political viewpoints long enough to see the human side of any situation. Sad, but true these days. For them everything is viewed as an opportunity to push their agenda, even the death and memorial service of one of our nation's leaders. It really is pretty pathetic to think that politics is more important to these people than people.

First impressions are made up (for me anyway) of a combination of appearance and attitude/behavior/expression. Appearance: Not physical beauty, but more like posture, demeanor, and "projected persona". Clothing, cleanliness, etc.... It's not a great way to judge anyone but in all reality it IS something we all do whether we admit it or not. But it is not always accurate. Attitude/behavior/expression: Is this a nice person? A mean pe

Sorry to hear about your run-in with the spider. They can be pretty nasty. I've been bitten by black widows a few times and I'm pretty sure none of them were fatal. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

The trip down here was pretty unevent. I made it to Plant City around 4pm yesterday. It was good to see my mother again. I immediately dove into my job hunting and have a few prospects lined up to contact today. I may have to accept a postion that is somewhat less than I want for the moment. I'd rather have some immediate income than to wait around for the "p

I think it has a lot to do with understanding. For many people, they don't really understand a situation unless they have experienced something similar. I know that I never had empathy for people with depression before I experienced it firt hand. I just didn't truly understand the nature of the thing. This may be true for a lot of people, for others it may be simple selfishness.

Steven; I really do understand your point, so don't get me wrong on that, I just don't agree with it. why should you exclusively have to bear the brunt of your current circumstance ? Because it's MY circumstance. Why should the taxpayer be required to bear it, even if they don't want to do so?

Saint Ying, thanks. I was hoping someone would respond to this article in the same vein as it was written. While you site some anecdotal examples contradicting some of what I said (just as I predicted in the article) I appreciate you making your comment, stating your viewpoint, your opinion, in a similar manner (perhaps a bit too sarcastic), as the original article was written. This article was written to express my opinions and impressions of

Found a few more from interviews asked to see the interviewer's resume to see if the personnel executive was qualified to judge the candidate. when I asked him about his hobbies, he stood up and started tap dancing around my office. at the end of the interview, while I stood there dumbstruck, he went through my purse, took out a brush, brushed his hair and left.

I spent all week sorting and packing; deciding what was essential enough to earn a bit of the valuable space available. What clothing I just had to have, what was really not important or needed. Let's see, I'm moving to Florida, it's summer, so I think the heavy winter coat can stay. Shorts, lot's of shorts and tee shirts, tank tops, etc... And since I'll be

Ah yes, High School. The great cage of the adolescent loonies. j/k don't sweat it. You'll get older and more mature, high school will just be a memory, and most of this will drop by the wayside as the more important matters of life take over to drive you even crazier. oh, and btw, f**k you too

I have kept aquariums for a good many years. I really enjoy it but it does require some knowledge to keep everything running just right and healthy. I agree with the others as it does sound like ick. It isn't that hard to treat if caught early, otherwise it can be difficult. A good active filter helps a lot. The tank w
