CAn stardock give us an indication when the isues ith IP will be resolved . Here's what happened to me : * quite a number of applications refused to run after having installed IP 3 , included were : - Snagit - Directory Opus - nearly all applications which happen to register tray-icons , but also toolbars ( Encarta- toolbar, True Launchbar etc. ) failed to initialize . * The actual WMI seemed to be failing ( so I couldn'dt ope
rikkie
Directory Opus ( explorer replacement ), Snagit to name but two . I haven't re-installed IP yet so don't know if this is still the case ( I'm not going to re-install either until I'm absolutely sure it's fixed - had to re-install windows to get rid of problems ) . Windows XP-SP 2 ( all updates ), Dutch PIV 1.7 GHZ Radeon 9600,128 MB 768 MB RAM 200 GB HDD
Glad to se this thread . I thought it was me doing something wrong but apparently other folks were experiencing issues as well. With me the XP COM+ service failed to startup .This had the result of loads of applications failing to register .I tried re-installing COM-catalog in its entirety by following the procedure described here : Link
[QUOTE]Mind you I didn't see any links to WC on Firefox's page, and it got added to the library the 1st time it was asked for.[ENDQUOTE] Exactly . And let's face it : the amount of skins produced for Firefox thusfar on WC isn't exactly enormous as well . There are a lot more skins for Trillian 2+ on Deviantart as well .I don't understand how WC can ask this question about goodies for all the seperate messengers out there while we have Trillia
Were you guys ( and girls ?) aware of the fact the new site doesn't look right in Opera ? Think this must be rectified. The left hand side menu is showing just a small part . Copied the text from left hand side menu at very bottom : ctDock 1.1 oma is comming 2005 in Review ral Desktop 1.2 released It shows up like described above in Opera 7.54
Any ETA on this ?? looks impressive .
however : I read the online playing requires some kind of subscription fee . Is that correct ??
darn, that one will only be released in Europe at beginning of 2005 What do you guys/girls think of it sofar ??
ok , which game ( similar to HL2 and Doom3) would you say is absolute tops ?? I'm considering buying one of these but am not all that certain yet as to which . Online play would be required though ( I think the longevity of these games is based on the online playing and the modding ) . I tried Soldier of fortune II a couple of years back ,but was highly disappointed with that one . Also have Rainbow Six III,Raven shield , like that one but it's buggy .
Trillian and Opera
what if you DON'T use IE but another browser ???
Also : these days it seems Games are produced for the sole reason of pushing sales up ( classy graphics don't make a good game ) . BAck in the "old " days - talking about CBM 64, Spectrum , Amiga days - developers had very little memory and CPU ( and other hardware ) to work with so they had to be very creative indeed . These days - with the advent of incredibly sophisticated hardware - they can opt to produce very attractive graphics with little or no
Don't forget the whole concept of "windows " as presented by Microsoft was a blatant rip-off as well . I think it's about time the Apple vs. Microsoft debate ended . I personally think that both OSX and Windows have equal value and it's sad this debate keeps going on .As for the marketing tactics : both companies always base their strategy on the "we are better than the others " - marketing concept . Have done so for years , so it comes as no surprise Apple used this same tactic yet again .
one question : is this skin-suite completely win 2k compatible ??? I'm seeing a tendency nowadays to make skins compatible with xp-only , prime example being NOT to skin the start-button in win2k at all. I'd consider buying this suite if I knew for certain it would basically work on both my OS ( 2000 and xp), not just the one.
Is there a possibility either to stipulate that the Windowblinds-skins must be Windows 2000 compatible or , if they are not , to make a seperate section for users NOT using windows xp ?? Other then that: great idea . The last GUI-olympics had some stunning winners if I remember correctly . Any idea yet on which mp3-player will be the one going to be skinned ??
Site is not reachable
Merry christmas
link underneath story ( first link) points to a website that's "under construction" Rushed the story a bit, guys ???
HEY, essorant ...when is your site going online ????
bought it immediately, because I think you make excellent windowblinds-skins ( which also work perfectly with windows 2000 )....sure would like to see WB-fusion though at the price it's a bargain,also...
well done...the whole idea of persecuting Kazaa and even Kazaa-users is totally ridiculous and pointless...do they really think piracy or copying will stop if Kazaa is finished ?? No way ...if nothing else there's always newsgroups <
It's the same story all over again We had this debate when audio-tape was introduced and we had it when video-tape was...in both those cases the problem was solved by adding to the price of the blank media , a very elegant solution in my opinion.I think making a copy for personal use should be perfectly legal and in no way should be prevented by the producer of the software ( be it a game or application ).
that's what I said in the GRC-news story Superscan is also a good program to scan for open ports and what they're doing...also freeware available at www.webattack.com as is active ports
looks ok in Opera here , are you sure you're using the newest version of Opera?? Try the new Opera v.7.2 Beta...
