Problem solved. My desktop firewall AND my company firewall worked together to block the uploads.

Hi all, my first version of GC managed to upload files OK, but somewhere in the updates to 1.2 it no longer does so. Is there a bulletproof checklist anywhere, or a place to send save files? Thanks, Steve

Thanks for looking it up. I'm happy to finally be there, but puzzled why I am only receiving error codes like "send test failed". I never thought to disregard the error message and look for results under my handle in the metaverse anyway.

Started with original version of GalCiv, then upgraded. Now starting to assume I have overlooked something very basic, or just have a wrong setting somewhere. Is there a truly braindead checklist I can go through to find out why the connection is failing? Thanks, Steve
