"I find it rather unfortunate that some people have such poor reading comprension that they come to claim that the opposite was said than was actually said." Well if you look outside your arrogant, look down upon others because you are automatically better attitude - you may understand I've said repeatedly in several threads that I don't have time to sift

By the way, I also think its notable that the military budget sucks up more then many of the social programs all put together, save Medicare and Social Security. You can see the facts for yourself: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2005/budget.html This site shows it all, for those who care about the facts instead of coffee table hear-say talk. http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2005/defense.html Departm

I get sick of everyone saying that public programs do nothing but make you dependent, when its mostly the opposite. If you look at the pure facts - the actual budget going to pure welfare (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families - TANF, which replaced the old AFDC program), its actually pretty small. Social programs that suck the most money are Medicare, Social Security for retirees, and other things such as Education. I'm sor

I've only read a few messages from you, Brad, and I can already tell you haven't got a grasp on reality in your arguments. This has *nothing* to do with you on a personal level. But you've outspokenly come on here and given vast generalizations and 50% truths backed up with half-informed polls to try and convey a message. You can't do this and not expect someone to actually point out the truth. I don't consider myself a Democrat or Re

I think its funny how Wardell thinks he knows every thing, about everyone and can paint such a broad stroke with such a narrow brush (or in his case, maybe his mind). So you have a poll. It shows that Bush gets barely above a majority of voters among new college educated workers; shows the exact opposite for highly educated people; and shows that there is a clear majority from the very poor that vo

By the way, your idea that the government keeps people down and Democrats have made slaves out of these people are ludicrous. The living conditions of this nation have been enhanced so greatly through the New Deal and Great Society programs, it cannot be understated how GOOD this has been overall for the nation. Has there been massive wastes and misuses? Sure - everything needs reform and fixing fr

I read your original post, Brad, but didn't have time to read any other comments. I feel as if you are either just extremely partisan and want to find anything to make Republican mean good, or either you just don't know history. Maybe its something else entirely, but I disagree with a great deal of what you said based on fact - not just my opinion. Mind you I'm going by the original post showing your opinions, and nothing else. Fact #

If you think Kerry's campaign trail leaves you shivering - you should look at Bush's backers. Besides; it really shows how pathetic both parties are: Democrats seemingly want to change and work for the middle class, but can't because they have their hands tied behind their backs due to needing funding like this to get elected; Republicans are outright pro-corporate to the extreme (and have far more big corporate money backing them of course) a

And I don't think making an argument against public education in favor of private education is a good thing either; private schools do so much better because the students who tend to attend those schools are there because their parents are generally wealthier, and they have a home environment that cares about their education. You take a poor kid from a family that doesn't care about education, or doesn't help them when they get home - private schools w

The media in the US are a horrible, pathetic excuse for news. And what makes it even more sad is the fact that there really isn't much better elsewhere in the world. Most of the world is still "developing" anyway. The problem with our media is that professional ethics do not apply anymore (I'm not talking about morality - I'm talking about being professional). No one can separate personal lives fro

Zero tolerance usually means Zero common sense. Don't use your brain and anaylize an individual situation for what it is - just do it. So no, zero tolerance isn't a good idea. Each individual situation should be dealt with individually for what they are - and the administrators and teachers should be smart enough how to handle situations if you ask me. That's why it requires a 4 year bachelors degree to be a teacher, no?

No, it isn't true, because for one thing - anyone who does covert operations isn't remotely stupid enough to speak out and say what they are doing. And two - the guy who posted this doesn't even know what the political scale is if he thinks right wingers are liberal.

I don't get what is so hard to understand about taking a logical thought process in where you use reasoning to come to a conclusion over using passionate, heated, ill-informed set of ideas when making a decision. Every Democrat running, except for Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich, say it like it is: We support mi

Liberal does not equate being against capital punishment; although most liberals are definately against it. To be so naive as to think that only one or the other party has criminals is a joke, right?
