you don't have to put in an external URL... that's just an option that you can use if you like. you don't need your own website... just select the category that you want your blog to show up in, and blog away... if you want your blog to show up on your homepage (username.joeuser.com) and in the forum, go there first and click Create a new article... any other questions? feel free to ask... i hope this helps.
