You could make the Fighters have 0 range so they'd need to be brought to the fight by a carrier. The carrier could hold 20 of 'em and oooohhhhhhhh it'd be sweet. :D :D :D [Message Edited]

When that happens to one of my planets I usually build a colony ship on that planet and move the entire pop off but don't disband your colony. Wait for that evil to take the planet then get a troop transport and take it back ASAP.. ;) Was it Precursor's or DreadLords? They're kinda dumb but a pain in d arse. [Message Edited]
mods?? uhhh.. War party & some other junk. [Message Edited]
I played this game earlier today and won. I was surprised 'cause I haven't played too many Maso/Suicidal games. You can download the game and see a screenshot at http://www.angelfire.com/space/aimdos/galciv.html Let me know if ya try it and beat it.. :D Oh yeah, it's for Altarian Prophecy.
I remember it used to be a bit more active.. :notsure:
I tried to install the latest release of Altarian Prophecy from Stardock Central today & got a similar error about 47k into the download.. :(
That happened to me when I was downloading the 366MB multimedia file for GalCiv. I just tried it again and it picked up where it had left off and seemed to finish okay.
That helps 'cause now I know how that goes but that doesn't change my calculations at all. Is there some other part I'm messing up on? Or is it a Metaverse mess up?
Alright, by my calculations (which could be wrong) my metaverse score should be 61,493. It's a few thousand points less though. It shows 57,172 points in the metaverse and 56,841 in my profile. The formula for the scoring is Metaverse score = Total Score / sqrt of # of games played per month.. Right? Each month for 6 mo's the original score degrades by 5%? I think. For example my last months score from Jan. 31 to Feb 29 which = 47,051 degrades by 5% per month for 6 months. So beginning this mo
Yup, click on that magnifying glass lookin' thing at the bottom of your post. :)
I had most of my ships within quick striking distance of their systems & I hadn't yet tried to take a system before I noticed their funds had increased drastically. I was in the process of destryoing nearby ships of theirs when I checked their funds again.
Yeah, if I'm about to goto war with a powerful civilization and I need a buddy to help I usually give the Civ I want to ally that tech if they don't have it. Then I butter them up with the green & some other goodies until they're "close." Then I make them an ally. Then attack! ;)
heh, glad ya like my nick. ;)
I've had a similar problem.. I guess.. When I go to load a saved game from the main screen it takes a while for the list of my saved games to come up.. I've found though that if I go into \galciv\data\savegames\ & delete all that left over junk (unfinished games & stuff) that load game list "loads" a lot faster. Maybe that could be part of your problem. Not sure. :notsure:
I was playin' a game tonight and had wiped all of the other civs out except for the Yor. I checked how much they had for funds by going into the screen where you can talk to them. it said that they had 367bc. So I thought, okay, time to attack. I began moving my ships into position to attack. Probably about 5 turns later I attacked, I also checked their funds and they were up to 27,000bc & change..! How?! They then proceeded to pump out a bunch of avatars & some overlords which totally ruin
yeah, that's what I need.. My scores seem to be lacking. I've seen people with scores of 9,000+ on cakewalk/tiny galaxies. I guess I'd just like to know what "criteria" make for a better score? Morale/approval rating @ the end of the game? Techs researched? the more researched = better score? Miliatary might? Population? Economy? If when going for military conquest does taking out the minor civs = better score? Time/turns taken to win? Which of the abo
hah, yeah, I like free planets.. The more the merrier.
Not sure if you can. You could always write it down somewhere before you begin.. I've done that. A good indicator is usually how many planets they manage to get. Seems the smarter they are = the faster they go = the more planets they get in the initial rush.
"Then humans are reduced to what most now consider aliens! They are deformed in appearance and very highly technologically advanced beings. Beings that have no future! That is why they now come back through time! To when THE END started!" yep... us beings after WWIII managed to produce technology that exceeds what we have now but yet we have no future.. Doesn't make much sense to me.. The video is interestin' though. [Message Edited]
