If they got their info wrong, other news agencies will circle like sharks
No, they stick together. They also all report the same stuff from the same news agencies.

Negative publicity how? The media will report such court cases as attacks on the freedom of the press. Public television is great. The problem is that it naturally attracts editorial staff of exactly one side of the political spectrum and it's not the side that is against state-funded news reports. Public television should stick to entertainment. (Ironically, public television even creates better entertainment programming than private television.)

Local print media can be good or bad. It's the state-funded television stations I am now worried about. They provide EXCELLENT entertainment, but their news look as if they had been made up by people who support public television.
Want to fix the problem? Allow modest legal libel against reporters and or media that publishes/broadcasts the incorrect photo or piece. It might cut down on cheesy reporting and ensure stories are fact checked thoroughly. Repeat offenders will quickly find themselves bankrupt. I despise the litigation culture, but I'd make an exception for this.
I fear the news media conglomerates are too rich for that. They make more mon

KFC, your last reply was simply brilliant! I cannot do anything but congratulate you for it. Especially these two paragraphs:
Each one of those 10 plaques represented a false idol. Remember back then even babies were thrown into the fire as a form of worship. Egypt had a god for everything. Sacrificing children was common among the heathen. God was showing Egypt during the time that he was above all their idols. He was real.&nb

I also think that journalism schools should think about whether they have a code of honour and what went wrong when almost everyone in the profession lies about the same thing at the same time.

Yes, you and America. You read controversial stories and check them. Americans distrust journalists. But Europeans believe them. And Europeans also believe that believing what journalists write already constitutes "checking". You have no idea how ignorant you are considered in Europe for reading blogs rather than believing what journalists make up. I do think it is a direct lie (and not just bias or ignorance) to claim that a picture was taken on the Temple Mount when it clear

How does journalism work? An example: http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/reports/The_Photo_that_Started_it_All.asp I am sure they teach this in journalism schools because all journalists involved knew exactly what to do and all of them did the same. The case 1. An American Jew visits Israel and is beaten and stabbed by an Arab mob in front of
The god of the bible ordered gays to be killed and villages put to death because of what one person did. Did god change his mind between the OT and the NT? Did god change or is the god you worship not the same one that moses dealt with?
The people that god ordered dead are dead. And nobody was ever condemned to death by G-d just for being (or even acting) homosexual. We don't know why G-d doesn't interfere any more or how exactly th
Certainly we know the Christians are against the homosexual lifestyle but they are equally not for condoning their death just because they are. In fact, the Christian's duty is to love and help the homosexuals like they would any other person they would meet along the way. You can love someone but yet not condone their behavior. That's what the Christians are called to do.

I rarely find antisemitism among Arabs. It's really mainly a western phenomenom. In the Arab world it's real ignorance, people really don't know anything about Israel. Even the Arab media are less hostile towards Israel than the western media (and they don't pretend to be "neutral").

Khomeini is not getting much praise from the Iranian nation. But he is still a hero of the western left. Very very few Muslims are followers of Khomeini. It's really just Ahmadinejad, Khameini and their thugs. Then you have Hizbullah and a few others who think that Khameini is a god. But that's the lot. Even the Wahabis in Saudi-Arabia reject Khomeini's "interpretation" of Islam as senseless fanaticism.

My favourite Palestinian blogger has written a surprising article again, quoting an interview from the Arab Gulf: Interviewee: I have my own personal opinion on the Palestine conflict. In my opinion I have no problems with Palestine belonging to both Jews and Muslims. Moreover, it was originally a Christian state. Interviewer: Why for both the Jews and Muslims? Interviewee: The origin of the name

There is more. According to this article the book also contained these gems: 1. A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However, he should not penetrate vaginally, but sodomising the child is acceptable. If a man does penetrate and damage the child then, he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. Sodomising is accep

Khomeini wrote a book. Really. Here's a quote: Having sex with the wife is illegal before reaching nine years, be it a permanent or a timed [timed marriage in shia], but the rest of acts like foreplaying [touching for sexual pleasure], hugging and Tafkhid is legal even with a baby. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahrir_al-Wasilah Men suspected of homosexuality and women susp
Furthermore, why do people want to hear Bush's opinion? This isn't the first time I heard this either. How does it affect the outcome?
There are those of us who think that he is a smart man who understood the situation and how to differentiate between religion and terrorism. It wouldn't affect the outcome (and shouldn't) but I for one think that George W. Bush is a useful moderate voice.

Similarly the term "terrorism" has been subject to such abuse lately. Terrorism is bad. Hence people who practice it are evil. However, the progressive view is that there are evil people, hence what they do is "terrorism". That's how Israel's actions became "state terrorism". Somehow Jews are genetically evil and just cannot help it.

Two of the most common arguments for Israel are the Holocaust and the need to reward victims with their own country and the Biblical argument that G-d gave the holy land to the people of Israel. Both arguments are good and true. The Holocaust indeed showed that a Jewish state was necessary and the Bible (and the Quran) indeed claim that G-d gave the holy land to the Jews. However, the odd part about the arguments is not that they are made but by whom and why. They always
The only reason I wouldn't oppose it is because it is legal under our laws, despite how I personally feel. I do believe they should look at where the funding is coming from, and if one cent comes from a terrorist support group, then stop it (and freeze the cash to help pay for the WOT).
It comes from a root word in Hebrew yarah which gives us the word picture of a man throwing a spear at a target. From this root, we see that Torah is instruction on how to hit the mark or target.
That's the philosophical discussion, very typical for rabbinical assemblies. :-) But here's the deal. Yarah today means "shoot" and 2000 years ago meant "cast" (as in "throw a dice"). But I think it originally derived from "decide". There is a lo

The point is that Christians have a few basic beliefs about what religions are, and they will stick to them without noticing. That is all good and well until a Christian becomes an "atheist" and tells himself that he is now beyond the limits of religion when in reality he is still bound by the limits of his religion and has merely lost the faith that explained the whole thing. Usually it's easier to make a Christian who believes in G-d see that other religions are different than an at
