Became a member on Feb 12, 2004... so almost 7 years now. First found WC a few months before that. My first son was born October 2003, so I needed something quiet to do while he slept instead of playing my guitar. Surfing around for wallpapers I found Wincustomize. Started uploading walls, then eventually Rainlendar and Sysmetrix and some icons. Dabbled in CursorXP for a while too. Don't do much skinning anymore, just an occasional wall here and there. But I'm still here every sin
For some reason Enigma Rainmeter didn't show up in the screenshot.
What do you use for taking screen shots? That used to happen to me with Sysmetrix a while back when I just used the default Windows "Print Screen".
She got chatting with a member because of similar interests
There's the problem right there. I'm not friends with anyone on Facebook that I don't know in real life. I don't use it to make new friends, I use it to keep in touch with everyone I already know around the world.
Unsolicited advertising is spam. Targetted unsolicited advertising is insidious spam.
I wouldn't call the advertising on Facebook unsolicited. Advertisements on Facebook are there. We solicit them the minute we sign up for Facebook. Just as signing up for an emailing list makes the subsequent advertising emails solicited.
Countless corporations want to know what you are making (or ordering) for dinner, especially if they can connect that data with your rough income level and a half-jillion other target market metrics.
This is what I don't understand. Why is this a problem? So I post on Facebook that I'm having Lasagna for dinner... the next day there's an ad on the site for an Italian restaurant. So? How does this harm me in any way? I don't see what the pro

I love Wincustomize, but one thing I've noticed is that paranoia runs rampant on this site. Why do I care if a stranger sees a picture of me on the web? Strangers see my face in person everyday every time I leave the house. Obviously, you wouldn't put things like your SSN or bank info on Facebook, but the stuff they ask for and the stuff most intelligent people will share is harmless. I have 4 siblings who live in Massachusetts, New York, California and Germany.

This thread is so old, I don't know if you guys will even find it buried... but I wanted to mention something that I forgot to on this thread... a few months after his passing, Chris' family came out in the news saying that Chris was going to be a dad... apparently his girlfriend was newly pregnant when he died. She and the family knew at the time, but kept it quiet at first because of all the local media craziness. She has since had the baby, he's about 6 months old now. My

The original concept was very promising... but being quite honest, the changes have completely ruined it. It's cluttered and scattered all at once. Quite disappointing.
