Ok, Smartaz made a comment earlier about Renee Zellweger being a little on the lean side. I agreed, and it led me thinking about other painfully skinny women in the media. Lara Flynn Boyle immediately comes to mind, as do Courtney Cox Arquette, Jennifer Aniston, Calista 'I turn sideways and disappear' Flockhart (although she has gained a few lbs recently), Debra Messing (pre-pregnancy)...I know there are more, I just can't think of them right

Smartaz, I like you. I do the same thing....start in with the song for no reason and piss those around me off.
You know though, I was bigger when I got married (150lbs, sz 12) than I am now (115lbs, sz4). I didn't get any bigger after the 'I do's' (except for when I was pregnant and shortly thereafter). Renee Zelweger is a little on the lean side...I personally think she looks much better Bridget Jones size. Lara Flynn Boyle turns my stomach to look at...what is it that men find attractive about terminal skininess? Oooh, there's a blog entry waitin
I've had this discussion with Dave and my friend Rob over the past couple of days..which prompted me to write about it. The first year is NOT the hardest. They're all hard, to varying degrees, because, I think, the relationship is constantly changing and evolving so you have to change and evolve too...or is that that because you're changing and evolving, your relationship has too as well? Either way, each year doesn't neccessar
I agree. Crucifixion wasn't pretty or pleasant, and to have minimized it or dressed it to up make it more tolerable just wouldn't have worked. Christ was crucified for the sins of man...do people want to make light of that and believe he suffered less than he really did? I would have thought that seeing one man suffer that way, for YOU, for YOUR sins, would have made a person more of a believer in Christ's love than they already were. I'm n
Yeah, that's me ...a gun-totin'-meat-eatin'-red-headed-sharon-osbourne-lookin'-hott-n-sexy-buddhist. (well, everything except the hott-n-sexy- bit, maybe..I don't think i"m all that). What a skinful of contradictions, huh? Thanks for the comments guys...!
I'm the same as Macky...I can't fall asleep without the TV on. I've tried, and it seems like the silence is just too much, you know? The background noise from the TV going helps drown out the crap going on in my head. I've had problems sleeping for years now, and nothing really seems to work. When it gets really bad (i.e. less than 3 hours broken sleep a night for over a week) I'll go see my doc and get put on Ambien for a couple of days...
Do it! I did it. I moved thousands of miles and continents away from my family, gave up my job, my house.... everything for a guy I loved. 10 years later, here we are, together, still. 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all'
Ok, let me try this again... Link that should work...
Dao, or Tao is an eastern Philosphy. Also known as 'the way'.... Thank you for your prayers, they're really making themselves known to me...and I'm really starting to feel that God is making himself known to me again. There is this peace, this understanding that I'm feeling..... It's all very strange...wonderful, but strange. I'm pretty sure this lump is going to turn out to be nothing as well, but I'm still going to feel m
Someone has been praying for me. I can feel it. It's not something I can totally explain.....but recently (as in the past couple of days) I've had this amazing feeling of peace, of tranquility... despite everything that's going on right now. I at first thought that it was the Dao, that I had found my Dao again...but that's not it, there's something more. I really can't explain it...all I can say is that I KNOW someone has
"I think the actions of the president are, in my opinion, the most vile and hateful words ever spoken by a sitting president," said O'Donnell. "I am stunned and I'm horrified. "I find this proposed amendment very, very, very, very shocking. And immoral." This coming from the woman who said (and I paraphrase a little here) "Do you know what happens to liars? They get cancer and die" (from a sworn statement at her recent trial) Hello,
Yes, you did, Poet. Thank you!
I did it. I defended my personal space. I had written a blog a week or so ago about my need for distance between me and people I don't know, and some of the responses I got suggested that the next time I felt like I was being invaded I should defend my space. So I did. I was at the airport this morning, waiting for my friend Jim to arrive. I was at the gate, and became actuely aware of a very large young man standing about
I wonder how she makes it through the day without injuring herself. I think that a lot of it is for show ....but i think the fundamental stupidity is real. The thing is, she considers herself a role model for younger girls..keeping her virginity until she married, being a 'nice' girl, etc, etc...does this mean she's encouraging them to be dumb blondes as well? her two main competitors, B. Spears and C. Aguilera That gave me the first laugh of the day. Thanks, Baker.<
I thought of another one...people who suck snot and hawk lugies. Makes me gag just thinking about it.
Thank you for thinking of me! Yes, it's the interaction that keeps me coming back for more too...not neccessarily having someone else validate my opinion, but having people disagree with me as well - they make me think, make me perhaps see the equation from a different perspective. I may not agree with their perspective, but it still makes me think, and I like that. I think of people I 'meet' on here throughout the day as well.
'Cooome onnnn yoooou re-eds!' Been a Man U Fan since i was little...my big brother taught me right. His son's a Gunners (Arsenal, for those of you who don't know) fan...Kev's not too happy about that one.
Well, I like them, and I'm a girl. Not pregnant though...if I am I'm sure The Vatican would be interested in hearing about it. I don't know if it's just pregnant women who dislike them, I know quite a few people who think they're distasteful and none of them are pregnant. The reasons most of my friends give for not liking them are the same ones that you have: they look weird, dead, disfgured, deformed...just odd and disturbing. I myself felt that way about that them when the first f
Toilet paper hanging the 'wrong' was (as opposed to my 'right' way). Doesn't matter where I am (unless it's one of those big industrial sized TP holders that you need a key and password to get into) I'll take the roll off and turn it the 'right' way. In case you're wondering, the 'right' way is with the paper hanging off the back, down the wall...not off the front. An unmade bed. I can't stand sleeping in an unmade bed. Even if I'm dog tired, I still have to make the bed before I ca
'Homosexuality is wrong and that should be the bottom line in our society' That's the most assinine statement I've heard in months, perhaps even years.
I'm with you....!!
Well, the opinions are in. It's not cancer. I have fybrocystic breast disease. My body's breast tissue likes to clump together and make knots, lumps bumps etc, etc. There isn't any treatment for it, it's just one of those things you live with. The lump I have now, however, would probably be better off being removed. I have an appointment with a surgeon on March 3rd to discuss and schedule to take lump out and biopsy it. Sometimes th
My left boob has been touched and looked at and discussed by more people than I care to think about in the last couple of days...and there's more of the same in store today. Today I get to go lay it on a little plate and have it squished almost flat so the radiologist can take an X-ray....a boob in a vice, if you will. Then I'll go down the hallway and have someone else I don't know squirt some cold jelly on it and scan it with the ultrasou
Imaginit: I'm not ashamed for loving my husband...and he's included in almost everything I do...but not all of it. Muggaz, I'm dropping you a line later today...we'll go have a few pints (I can hold my own though, be forewarned) and a chat. I might even cook for you if you're lucky...! Nicky, Vegemite is a spread that you put on bread/toast. I'n Australia it's called vegemite, in England it's known as Marmite. It's dark brown, almost a black color, and tastes...well, I think
