Merry Meet! I had wanted to wrote something like this myself, but couldn't find the eloquence to do so. I've been there: having been raised Protestant and being a Sunday School teacher for a number of years, making the decision to practice Buddhism wasn't an easy one. I was literally going against everything that had been ingrained in me from a very early age - but it was something that I needed to do, Christianity just didn't make s

I'm feeling trapped. I awoke at 4am to the sound of the wind howling outside my bedroom window. The storm we're experiencing was supposed to be over by now... I turned on the TV to find (much to my dismay) that the locals school districts have decided to close today due to the weather. Not good. We all got cabin fever yesterday, I'm not sure if we can survive another day without someone going postal. So I got up and look o
Dear Dave, I know you read what I write, so I thought I'd take the opportunity of giving you a public apology seeing as I can't come up there and do it in person, in front of everybody. This is the best I can do; I hope you find it sufficient. I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry that I went so far off at the deep end on you. I'm sorry that I yelled at you and said stuff that wasn't nice and that I really didn't mean. You
It's always this way up here. I've lived here for 8 years (this year will be my last, hooray!!!) and every year we'll get a spell of mild temps for about a week, followed by a mondo storm that shuts down schools and keeps folks off the roads. I've sat on my deck in 55 degree weather wearing a bikini top and shorts, watching the snow slowly melt in the backyard, so I get what you're saying about the car windows! Old? I dunno about tha
Today it snowed. And snowed...and..well, you get the point. Then the wind picked up and blew not only the falling snow around but the snow that was already on the ground around too, resulting in a white-out situation. I can't see the cars parked across the street. I can't see my own trashcan..! So, we've all been cooped up in the house together....all day......and I think that I am los
I'm having a forced reclamation of viginity - being thousands of miles away from your other half will do that for you. I just thought about it - I'm not going to get any until August!!!! OMG!!!! How will I ever last that long!!!! Then again, my friend Mike hasn't had any for 2 years (that's been a sel
Happy birthday, Muggaz......if we were closer I'd buy you a pint. Never mind, I'll get the first round next year!
Yeah, been there, done that. ..and that was funny... Mine almost, almost convinced me that it would be ok to eat nothing but kosher dill pickles and Cheetos for supper one time.
He's 7 1/2, and yes it was quite a moment. Jake's always been like that though.... A couple of weeks ago, on a really windy day, he set off to go up to the school bus stop. Less than 2 minutes later he came back and asked if I could please give him a ride up there "'cause I'm getting blowed all over"! Yeah, he's my lil' man....and I love him.
I've always thought that make-up should enhance what you have, not turn you into someone else entirely. We had some family photos taken this past summer, and part of the package that we purchased included my getting my hair and make-up done 'professionally'....I ended up looking like Coco the freakin' Clown, nothing like myself at all. We ended up refusing to purchase any further prints, and the ones that we did get that had me in them are hi
My husband didn't like it at first either..but now says that kissing me without it in feels like there's something missing. As for the job, I used to work security and investigations and had times when I had to take mine out (though they were few and far between) - you can get pink retainers for them to make them a little less noticeable. No-one has really made any negative comment about mine...and there was a reason behind my getting pierced there to
Jake, my youngest has been learning about nouns, verbs etc, in school recently. We sat down this afternoon to watch 'The Italian Job' together, and Shea asked me what kind of movie it was. "Action I do believe" I said. "Oh!" says Jake "Does that mean it has a lot of verbs in it? 'Cause those are action words, ya know" (at this point I had to leave the room with my hand over my mouth, trying to stifle the giggle
brokedownprincess: girl, you hit the nail on the head. My email is [email protected] and my Yahoo IM ID is dharmagirl69. Email me/IM me anytime you want to, I'd love to talk to ya......!
Pierce it. It doesn't hurt that bad. If you can get an IV placed, you can get a tongue piercing. I love mine. An Ouroborous is a Gnostic infinity symbol, it's a circular serpent with it's tail in it's mouth. For those of you who watched 'X-Files', Scully has one tattooed on her ass (though I didn't know that until after I got mine) It was also heavily featured in the TV series 'Millenium'. I too am in no doubt that I will not re
Thanks, Trin...
Thanks, Dan..and yes, advice is welcomed. It will get better, but it's just going to take some time, and I, unfortunately, am not the most patient person in the world. I'd like to add one more thing: before anyone offers advice about anger management, understand that I don't lose my temper very often and fights like this are rare...very rare. When they do happen however, they're usually pretty spectacular (like last night).
Dave and I had a monster fight last night, that somehow carried over to this morning. I hate fighting at the best of times, but when we're thousands of miles apart it really sucks. We have a habit of hanging up on each other when we're getting angry, which seems like a good idea at the time but only serves to infuriate the person on the other end and inevitably leads to disintegration of patience and childish, tit-for-tat behaviour.
Zim, honey, you're doing the right thing. If it doesn't work out, you'll at least know you tried. If you don't try I think you'll be kicking yourself in the ass forever for not trying. You can't always make your parents happy. I know that, I learned that the same way you're learning it. If you want to talk about this further, or perhaps chat a while, you can email me at [email protected]. My Yahoo Messenger ID is the same.
I currently have 4 tattoos - flowers on my ankle (my first, a don't -care- what- it -is- just-gotta -have- a -tattoo), an ourobourous on my right upper deltoid (waited years to get that one), a trinity knot on my upper back and a celtic knot with a sunburst on my lower back. Until recently I had 5 piercings (I'll let your imagination run with that one) but now I'm down to 2, my tongue and my belly button ( had to take the other 3 out for various
Yeah! That's what I'm talking about! Press on, man. Get on with your life and leave her to ruin hers. Hope it works out with this chick..even if it is only as friends.
So, Adam, what branch of service were you in to get this wonderful insight into the ways of the US military? What's that? You WEREN'T in the in military? Oh, I see...well perhaps you ought to quit talking out of your ass then. There's nothing wrong with joining the service. Yes, there's politics, but you're gonna get that everywhere you go. The pay's not so bad, in fact Dave and i would be hard pressed to make it in the civilian world.
So that's where it's coming from! I think you might be on to something there, Jeremy. You're right, in the past women were traditionally voluptuous..look at Reubens' nudes - even in Victorian times when it became fahsionable to wear corsets the corset served to minimize the waist and thereby accentuate the bust and hips.... Huh! Well that's something to ponder...
Yes, I read the same thing...at one point she was a size 0 and looked awful, but she filled out again to about a size 6. Apparently she wasn't happy with that, so now she's dropping weight again. You know, she really illustrates my point..she looked wonderful before, but probably succumbed to the idea that you have to be skinny to be worth anything or marketable. I know she had an eating disorder, but I wonder how much of that was brought on by the
ROFL.... It's refreshing to know there's someone else who does stuff like that! I find the bottom of the washer full of bits and pieces that I've shoved into my pockets whilst I'm picking up. No matter how irritating it is to have to fish them all out, I can't get out of the habit of absentmindedly doing it..! I'll also, instead of putting my spare pair of eye glasses away, put them on the top of my head, and have left the house with them sti
My point was that women who weren't fat or even chunky to begin with are starving and punishing themselves physically to get down to a 'perfect' size. I agree with you though Trin, that if you're happy with yourself, your size, it shows in your personality. Baker: I see that your list isn't full of skinny-minnies....all I have to say about that is : vive la femme! Rejoice that you have curves, celebrate your voluptuousness!
