Maybe we should learn somethinfrom ancient civilisations. they worshipped plants, animals and respected human life. They killed only for food. Call me pagan if you will, but if WWIII happens, we might go we started from. Wipe the slate clean and write all over again.

I'd be all to happy if US invades Iraq without resorting to carpet bombing, because, evil as Saddam is, he is bound to use citizens as shields. The US Troops go in, Saddam and get the hell outta there. No need to stay put in the country under the pretext of security and undermining the sovereignity of the Iraqis. Otherwise, as of today, I suspect their intentions.

There might be an Iraqi citizen amongst our midst. Imagine what he would feel, we discussing the bombing of his home from the safe and comfortable confines of our rooms.

It will not change anything sex777. But atleast you can take heart from the fact that there are people out there who agree with you. Some might even have a say in the political community. I say down with nukes all of them, even ours. Same with all other weapons too.

Dear Iben, freedom has been won without guns, slavery and colonies abolished without violence. Arms ARE NEEDED to preserve freedom, but killing just because they have wronged you in the past and you FEAR that they will do that again, is insanity. Saddam should have been replaced in 1991 itself, but the prospect of making the Iraqi people suffer the atrocities of a war all over again is a bit too much. That too without other nations acknowledging the threat. If the threat perception was s

If your safety is based on other people's fears Iben, then your security is very fragile. A person learns to fear and fear more. Until one day, he decides to break free. That day, either the fear ends or the person. Now, we don't want either to happen, do we?

And I am in India and I intend to stay here and not join the Brain Drain. I am not Anti - American as you poiout. I might have made some mistakes pertaining historical facts, and I admit that. But you on the other hand, are hell bent on proving the supreme righteousness of all American actions. I never promoted the right of the IRAQI GOVERNMENT to exist, just the IRAQI PEOPLE. And the Iraqi and N. Korean governments are evil, but atleast they are open to the fact that the people are not

That is what it all boils down to. Americans tend to think locally and act globally, whereas other countries are moving towards the concept of thinking globally and acting locally. And you say that nations don't fear you. If you remember, during the era of a multipolar world, (there was one, not along time ago), nations COULD DEFY the US and get away with it. But not anymore. 'Either You are with us, or against us.' Now, who can argue with that. Even Pakistan abondaned the Talibanm. Bec

This is where the difference between nationalism and jingoism shows Iben, here the leaders are seperated from the followers. What is right for you is wrong for others. Do you think that by invading Iraq you are doing the right thing? Someone in the thread said that Afghanis were saying 'We love America(ns)' after the 'liberation' of Afghanistan. What I think is that this is a temporary phase. Give it a couple of years, the American forces won't be leaving Afghanistan for another decade perhap

Dear The Rated PG, I think that the US and UK should wait for the UN weapons inspectors to truly complete their jobs. Their findings should be placed before the UN and there should be a vote in the UN. If the US is so sure that the position it is taking is right, it shouldn't be hard for it to convince the UNSC for the action it aims to take, isn,t it? We all believe in the collective sense of humans, don't we? Iraqis have a right to exist, or has that right been taken from them???<b

I had thought that I'd not contribute anymore to this thread. But since you have named me in your post Frogboy, I had to put in a word. Imagine yourself as an Iraqi. You made mistakes in 1990, paid with it with the lives of your brothers and sisters in the war and after it due to sanctions. You submitted, against your national pride, to restrictions, starvation. Now you allow foreign nationals to roam freely into your country to check universities, college hospitals etc. for WM

I'd definately pick me for wallpapers cause my wallpapers are made to my taste and are as good (or bad) as anybody else's. But since I do not skin other apps I'd pick adni18, BoxxI or Koasati (given here in alphabetical order, not in order of choice).

I am sorry for it pipowell. Maybe this thread needs to be terminated and I need to hit the sack and dream about a peaceful world. That is the only place where I can see one. Any Admin out there? Delete this thread please. It has hurt many sensibilities and I have made enough enemies within a space of 20 hours. I don't think the world or I need to see more hate. Maybe it is a crime to be in the minority. No more inputs from me to this thread. <img src="http://images.

And maybe people did speak out in 1989. But nobody came to know about it as the use of the net was not as widespread. But we are still not reffering to the real issue here, is the unilateralism shown by the NATO (I have to substitute US/UK by NATO, touchy topic) justified? In that cse, we should have nuked our neighbours in the 1971 war itself, we had conquered most of their territory, held a conventional as well as a nuclear edge over them. Man I wish our people had lost all their capabilit
