The fact is, the entertainment industry was forced to accept the introduction of new technology with the VCR and then was further pressed to grow up by the courts in the "First Sale Doctrine" decision which made it possible to rent movies. In both cases, the industry was proven to be short-sighted and stupid as their share of these new profits was enormous and a new distribution channel for their product emerged.

Technological advances are often met with industry supported resistance. What is unfair is when legislators and corporate leaders make laws to supress technology that could benefit society in secret meetings where the interest of the corporation is the only one considered. /me wishes he could get Mandarin mp3's somewhere... I rip my own CDs too. I tried downloading some stuff from Napster when it first showed up but I hated it, most of the songs were missing the ending or had terrible quality. Anytime I found something I liked I would go buy the CD anyway. It's interesting that when Napster was going strong, so was the music industry, CD sales were way up. N

What's the problem with that MrGupps? That will work on any site with any picture, even the interface graphics. If someone is going to save the preview rather than the zip file they miss out on the different sizes and possibly better quality in the zip. That's their prerogative. I don't see where there's any problem with that.

Are you using a skin that has those features? Another possibility, if you updated a skin (Copper DeckII for example) the new features may not show up. I had to delete the old skin and install the updated one to get the shell stuff to show up.

argh... It's funny but I just loaded Darkmarble this morning to delete a skin I was running. Needed to load another skin and it was right there in the list. My first thought was I forgot how much I liked that skin. It will definitely get the update. (I like Chrometube too )

In the UIS file for a Windowblinds skin Under the [Personality] heading there's a line that says "RollupSize=xx". Open the file in Notepad and change that value. It's the rolled-up height in pixels and should be at least the combined height of the top and bottom frames.

Thanks Adam, I was hoping you'd appear. I agree, it looks like a site for a community like ours and I would hate to see it be wiped out. The "unknown" author takes care of the biggest problem anyone would have with the site. Maybe we could help him get names and permissions for the skins he has that are un-credited. As for permission, he only has one of my pieces but I'm happy to let him post it and any others of mine he wants to post.

While I was looking at the site it went offline. It looks like a nice site. I was glad to see he gave the author's name on all the pieces. I didn't get to see very much before the site bombed but it looks like there's a Polish skinning community. If he's hosting all the skins it must be pretty expensive to keep it running.
