jeesh... To get back to the point of the question, CorelDraw is a suite of products which would be the equivelant of buying Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, Streamline and several others. The price difference is extreme in favor of Corel for what you get. Corel is also a lot easier to learn. However, if you don't need a vector drawing program I would recommend Photoshop6. I don't have XP (would love to play with cleartype) but I did find that several of the newer skins were unreadable to me (I'm running Win2k). I went into the Plus editor and turned off the shadows and in one case had to specify italic and a different font to get it all fixed. If the updates didn't move to the front, you wouldn't know it was updated. If there was a seperate section for updates it would require removing the skin from it's section so it wouldn't be a WB skin anymore... it would just be an "update" skin. no need to shout either... just think it through a bit.
Silverado Trucker - I see you don't have any uploaded skins. I don't know if you have made any or not, but if you have, then surely you realize the amount of work that goes into making one. An update to a skin usually is to add new features the program has added or to fix a bug. In the case of WinXP skins it's quite a lot of work to take a WB2 skin and add all the XP parts and functionality to it. If the artist didn't do all this extra work it wouldn't be a WinXP skin, just a standard WB skin.<
Try this, right-click on the download link and tell it to "save target as" and save it to your desktop. Then just doubloe-click the downloaded .wba file on your desktop. There's been something weird going on with WB downloads going to a temp folder...
What you're describing is the windows color settings in Display/Properties/Appearance. The website changing its background color means the site has no background color specified. Usually that is not intentional, just laziness on the part of the website designer. You can load a WB skin, then save the color settings in the display/properties/appearance dialog after changing the "window" color setting to your choice. Then uncheck the "apply the skins color setting" in the WB advanced sett
First thing I do is draw the skin - borders, buttons progress and scrollbars, etc. - then cut the pieces out and build the image files. I use Photoshop but you can use PSP, the Gimp, Photopaint or Fireworks (even MS Paint) whatever you're currently using for drawing - they all work fine. Then make a UIS file in Notepad (the WB UIS-2 help file will show what values you need to include). Look in a skin's folder to see what the various files look like.

Jim - optical mice have been around in drafting for a long time. It's the "cordless" optical mouse that logitech was first with. Don't update your skin or wallpaper without there being a very good reason. It should only be if you have made a major change, as treetog said, or fixed a bug. Even then it should only happen infrequently. It's hard for us to tell if there's been a change made to justify the update but if we have to we'll start asking for updates to be documented as to the changes. The update function is only there to allow for improvements in your work, not to move the same piece to the front of the li
