I have a similar problem: When I open Skin Studio it I get an error message that says "Failed to set data for "old_assoc" Then I get the option screen where you can pick what kind of skin you want to make. When I click on a skin type a new error message pops up that says "Acess violation at address 40029D0F in module 'rtl60.bpl'. Read of address 00000008" Then another error message appears that reads "Acess violation at address 0055F1E8 In module 'SknStdio.exe' Read of address 0000

You access system restore by going to Start/help and support then do a search in the help thing for "System restore wizard" and the option to "Run restore wizard" will appear Also This is a dumb question Well it seems like an itelligent question to me... rather an unesesary comment [Message Edited]

Also you dont need to put the stuff in the startup folder If you go into the desktop X properties you can check the box labled "Run DX on startup" once you fix that you will still need to do a system restore and always cut the power when ever it crashes

I had same problem... The only way I was able to fix it was to do a system restore (back up stuff on a disk first) to a time before I had the problem. Then never leave it in edit mode for more than 3 minutes or it will crash. Whenever it crashes just cut the power and be really careful with scripts Also never hit apply just click ok

Its fixed sort of.... I keep it in user mode and everything still works but the message still shows up Thats when I cut the power

Gues what! It got fixed when my grades laptops got locked down because some kid in my grade had a hacking program. To be safe they re-imaged all our computers and when i reinstalled it it worked again! Thanks for all your help u guys Does anyone know how to close a post? PS sorry guys

Pretty much my dx is dead unless I can "Re hibilitate" the script editor You wouldn't believe how many objects have scripts in fact I have only found 10 that don't so far (that I like)
