Welcome back Steve! As far as the fonts...you can install and run the Microsoft ClearType power toy and your fonts should look better...at least they do on my lcd screen...set it once and your done.
Gonna check that out myself - I've never been able to get my LCD screen to look just 'right' either.
Thank you so muh I really appreciate it. You guys are so nice. Anyways one last question is a widget and a gadjet the same as rainlander? Because those came with the object desktop too. Oh boy so much to learn. This will keep me occupied for weeks...lol
To use a gadget you need no other program installed on your computer. To use a widget , you need to install DesktopX - that program comes with your Object Desktop. Just download it through
but here is my biggest problem: My dad uses default luna! Now that is just cruel

This has been mentioned numerous times since the first week of new site. And while a lot of us know you can go back and rate the skin again - not everyone does know. They also may not even notice what they gave for a rating. Sometimes it happens so fast you don't even see it.

You have lots of nice cursors Tycus. Congrats on all your work, not just this one .
Fairyy~: These are some great suggestions. Sure, using the blanketed 'Clear your DesktopX' cache may be a quick resolution, but as you mentioned, it forces the user to lose all of their saved settings as well. When I run into this type of problem, I generally do as you suggested - launch the Object Navigator and ensure everything is set as it should be. The only real reason something might not be showing up is if it's outside the coordinates of the wo
I was expirimenting with desktopx and made an object, changed it to a widget. So I closed the object properties to update it and now its floating around and i cant select it! How do I get it off? Whenever you turn DesktopX on - whatever object or theme was up last will be there unless you clear your desktop. Right click on the DesktopX icon in sys tray ( Be in builder mode like bichur stated ) select " New Desk top " Save current changes "
I also lost my saved Themes after an update. Not sure there is anything you can do.
Now I'm of to find some rope and a tree Go RED SOX ( Every cloud has a silver lining - but I know the the AB's loss was a huge blow )
To the OP - making walls look good at all resolutions and keeping the design intact throughout can be painstaking. That was what I was trying to say.... Certain resolutions aren't left off for no reason , sometimes they just look like crap when you go to resize them depending on the effects you added. If it was just a push of a button - we would all be happy campers.
Fairyy~, my point was that if you make a wall in 1024 or 1280 , it takes the same amount of time. I misunderstood you - your right..which is why its better to make the wall at the highest resolution that you have. You can resize down but you cant make it bigger without it looking pixelated.
I think it was the way you put it. I read it both ways. It's that evil squiggle you have going on there. Will somebody PUH-LEEZE call in an exorcist and get rid of it once and for all!? I would not suggest touching the evil squiggle this close to Halloween - the evil power is increased tenfold - wondering how that Evil Squiggle would resize into Avatar hmmm <b
I was under the impression that it doesn't take anymore time to make a wall in different res. I resize the closest res. to the one I use and if its distorted, I scrap it. Depending on what it is. Sometimes if you make a wall on 1280 then resize it to 1024 it will have striations all through it. Round objects will not be round. Thats where you have to be creative and try to make it work or redo the wall from scratch .
he wasn't demanding that people make them to his resolution, all he was asking is why they make them at lower resolutions. I didnt say HE damanded anything - I stated do 'I' demand that others make things to fit my screen.. wr@ith - buzzh58 has made a 1400 x 900 version of " Raven " because this wall is on a black background it might be possible it will look ok. I will try to email it to you through the WC user email. If you don't receiv
Congrats on your new baby girl Bones - Best Wishes to you and your wife.
After exporting the widget , close desktopX and go try out the widget. It should not be on your screen in the proper place. The above line from comment 2 was typo > it should read " It should NOW be on your screen in proper place "
I would not try the clear cache fix for the important info lost widget - try the X an Y coordinates fix just to be sure you dont lose the info. Clearing cache resets the widgets to original state that you downloaded from the first time. Im not sure if you would lose any notes so dont clear cache until after you retrieve this one. Clocks and weather etc will not be affected by clearing cache as far as losing anything but your location info. PS: after you retrieve the important widge
i can run other widgets, but what is crucial i recover is the infromation that i wrote on my note-its, and would like to overall fix my problem, just cuz i use the note-it widget so much. halp!, thx. Don't panic - the widget(s) are there , they are just off in no man's land - they ' off screen' resetting the resolution will not retrieve the widget because it will still 'remember' the coordinates it now at regardless.. The first easy try
Lots of great stuff this week. Its nice to see everyone ' busy ' again Kudos to all this week.
I rechecked moderation. There is an error with the 1024 theme. A moderator sent a note to buzzh explaining. We're just waiting for an update now. For the time being, I've removed reference to the 1024 version from the article.
He is re-uploading it now
As i have a 14400x900 ws the lower ones only fit in the middle and when stretched look very bad and that is then defeting the point. If you made walls you would understand that its rather hard to make something that will look right on a resolution that you do not have. Same as DX Themes. A 1400 x 900 Theme is useless to me. I lose anything that is on the right side after 1280 pixels. So do I demand they make things to fit my monitor ? <br/
This Theme is dark but has some unique colors on mouseovers. I'm using the 1024 version of the DesktopX Theme now with the "RavenRose" substyle wallpaper - just a bit more color than the original. Great Theme for Halloween and year round - Kudos to buzzh58 for a unique and original suite. PS: The 1024 Raven DX Theme is still in moderation queue - maybe someone could make that available ? The 1280 v
