Hi, couple of KeepSafe issues: 1. The new Amazon.com UnBox Video app crashes unless KeepSafe us shut down. 2. Streaming video from CinemaNow will not play unless KeepSafe is shutdown. Let me know if you can think of a way around this, otherwise I thought you might fix these issues in a future buid. As an aside, this program has saved my butt in a big way a couple of times. I'm a Vista beta tester and have had my XP partition hosed a couple of times during the testi

Mr. Beesley, the user icon is called User Icon (in the WIndowsblings\Argos folder) and works fine here. Fairvy~, At the very first purchase screen, where you have the buy now button, there was a second choice for the discount for registered OD users. That took you to a log on window that confirmed your status as an OD subscriber and then on from there. Worked fine for me (got it for the discounted price).

I think I'd have some privacy concerns. Google already keeps essentially eternal records of what searches individuals have done (those teenage searches for nude celebrities may come back to haunt you someday). I wonder if they'll cache wordprocessed document data for potential use by the government or in court if requested. I personally think I have nothing to hide, but you never know what could be taken out of context and misconstrued. Google really

I'm glad it's not just me. I was initially really enthused to test Vista, but agree that there is a lot that is simply annoying about the interface. My initial enthusiasm has waned quite a bit. The eye candy is nice, and I think its real promise comes with what other apps could do under it (many could become more 3D for example). Many people will need to upgrade their computers and/or video cards to handle it as well. I must admit, I'm not so sure I'm

Very well said. I have been reading coments at wincustomize for years and I too have noticed a definate increase in just simply rude and negative comments of late. There have even been a couple of flame wars in the comments sections - something that I don't recall having seen in the past. I hope your excellent post gets some people to rethink their attitude. Any skin will have some people who don't like it. If one want's to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism

Just to mention it so you know. I was able to get WB5 (after the first beta) to install on XP using the copy activate.exe method. However, the same method fails to allow me to installit on Vista beta build 5219 (still get the error 5). Odd

Thanks to Sir Green Armani (above) for the clear description of haow to get it up and running. One note though - double clicking the theme did not work for me, it did work if I clicked Apply Theme. In any case, I finally got it working and boy is it sweet and fast. I have an older GeForce4 440GO 32mB on my laptop and the transparency works perfect. Awesome job as always Stardock <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" b

The first beta activated normally, but I had the problem with only being able to get classic mode. With the second beta I've had two odd problems: 1. During install or if I try to activate manually, I get an error 5 (whatever that is) that activation was unsuccessful. This occurs even if I've shutdown my firewall and antivirus software. 2. The other odd thing with install is that despite the activation error it said it installed correctly. But, when I

I'm psyched! Just curious though, are you eventually planning to integrate full compatiblility with the Vista beta's in v5? I know testing a beta on a beta is a generall no-no, but it would be great to run WB in the Vista betas without the current spacing problems, etc.

If you want to let people get at least a little taste of winfx, there is a beta program, Microsoft Code Name Max - which is a photo sharing software with some neat 3d effects based on winfx beta 2 available now - www.microsoft.com/max. It is for XP SP2 and will not install in Vista. It requires installation of winfx beta 2 (part of its install). Pretty nice feel and graphics. Check out the 3D "mantle" view for the photos - very neat <img src="http://im

Besides being a devoted OD and Wincustomize fan, I'm also a MS beta tester. I am running beta one now. I'm just curious if anyone has had success with any of the OD apps on Vista. I must admit I'm a little shy to try them as I fear they may really glitch the Vista install. I saw one post on betanews.microsoft.com of someone who was successfully using Object Bar, not something I use. How about iconpacager or logonstudio or bootskins? I doubt windowblind
