I've got another couple of years--which is a good thing, cause I failed on a bunch of them.

they haven't been proven innocent, either I always thought that you were innocent until proven guilty [that's very tongue-in-cheek, Gid. I know what you meant.]
cute. i liked it.
Wrong. Some state laws may state that, but federal law does NOT include sexual orientation as a protected category at this time. While that will probably (tragically) change, it is not protected against discrimination. As far as job discrimination, you are right. However, Executive Order 13160 states t
(providing that they're not getting a penny of state funding), Ah, there's the kicker. I'm sure that some of there students are on federally subsidized student loans. And until a university refuses to accept ALL federal funds, they are going to have to play by federal rules. And those rules say you ca
It is not like Bush has not tried to pass one, but the chicken littles in congress killed them.' It is common knowledge demonstrable even, that the democrats torpedoed the Energy
What a fun little game. I fear I'm not actually the targetted audience, but I will play anyway! 1) Please could you tell me your general opinion on the English, and any stereotypes that you may have about them? I don't really have a "general opinion" of the English. I know some who are just lovely and other that are absolute jerks. However, I will say that my English friends can all put on this shrill "Northern English" voice/bark/y
I guess it's a strict New England thing that you don't put cream in your tea, but if I like it that way... then why not? That's funny--I grew up in New England and never heard that you don't put cream in tea until a few weeks ago when one of my English friends informed me, "Every proper British mummy will tell you that tea and cream mustn't be c
Actually, Baker is no more or less hostile than he usually gets with people who disagree with him on something he believes strongly in... this is just the first time you've probably been on the receiving end of it. Dead on, Zoomba. And I'm pleasantly surprised (no, shocked) to be agreeing with Baker wh
Are you in Winston-Salem (I think you mentioned that in an earlier post)? I was just there this past weekend. If you have time, head to the Midtown cafe and desserty for some of the best breakfast (and desserts) around! Delicious--but certainly not healthy!
Only about half of the 11 million illegal immigrants are from Mexico. I guess they are just the most visible but there are illegal immigrants from many other countries who maybe just assimilate better. My husband plays hockey and I've know dozens of Canadians who are here illegally. No one is crying about them. It's my understand
think that happens when you hit 30! Ha! Ugh. Sally is off my favorite blogger list forever. [interesting article, Sally]
Part of the slump could be the lobbying restrictions. They haven't gone into effect, but a lot of offices are not longer accepting gifts, meaning lobbyists aren't buying up the tickets.
I think you are right--there is a lot more to the story. Just for the record though, the coach resigned. He wasn't fired. That leads me to think that he did "something" wrong--did he buy the booze for the party? or encourage the exotic dancer? Who knows, but if I were innocent, I certainly wouldn't resign. Also, the student that was suspended wrote a highly inappropriate and grotesque email--I'm not sorry to see him gone from Duke
Huh. I just dumped her so YOU could marry her, and you're mad at ME? I'd be mad at you too if you facilitated me marrying a crazy person! Sounds like you lucked out on this one!
Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it so much. I was feeling very alone. Sorry, Tex. Not having any advice to leave, I failed to even let you know that I had read this earlier and was thinking of you. Since I have no experience to offer--let me simply say that I hope that both you and your newest b
Having answered a help line at a domestic violence shelter--it irritates me to no end when people blame the victim. "Why didn't she just leave?" "What did she expect working at that party?" "Why did she wear such a short skirt?" I don't care if a woman exoctic dances in the middle of Main St stark naked--it does not give any man the right to violate her. Why aren't we concerned about the "natural consequences of the choices" made by the rapis
Assuming that the men are guilty: If that exotic dancer had chosen another profession, or even confined her activities to a public place where a bouncer could have thrown the riffraff to the pavement, this whole horrible incident could have been avoided, and this young lady would not have to forever bear the scars of suc
and cook me something!! Oh, you really don't want me to do that, it could be the end of you! (I'm certainly not known for my culinary skills)
I will believe the truth hah hah heh heh Wow, how very open minded of you. Jeez, I couldn't possibly know a thing about how Congress works--what a silly little girl I am.
we are bickering over 26 days... even going with your figure they get off 242 days shades. Who works more than five days a week? Come on, MM. Figure if you work a five day work week, you could work 260 days. Let's say they get 10 public holidays and ten vacation days (that's normal, or even
Clearly ABC News and the Drudge Report prove that they can't count. I encourage you to count for yourself and see how wrong they are.
that figure is wrong shades it's exactly 97 days work Ok, where'd you get that figure? Cause I went to the "in session" schedule and COUNTED THE DAYS MYSELF--so unless you've got a link, I'm sticking to my number. (Here's the link--cross reference to a calendar and you will get 123 days--http://www.hou
I assume by "work" you mean that the House is in session. I counted that the House would be in session for 123 days this year. However, that doesn't mean that Congressmen have the other 117 days off (52 weeks times 5 days a week is 260). When Congress isn't in session, Congressmen are still meeting with constituents, drafting legislation, negotiating language, helping constituents with their issues and visiting their districts. Yo
Happy B.day, Nicky. I hope it's brilliant, just like you!
