So any new predictions? Here I'll try (though I don't really know much about football, so just humor me, ok?) Germany v. Argentina: Argentina is definitely the better team (in my opinion, which means, quite frankly, very little), but Germany will have the advantage of being the host. I think it will be a 2-2 draw, with Argentina winning on penalities. Italy v. Ukraine: I find the Ukraine to be a bit dull, and Italy to be a bit tiresome. Italy will win (Italy 2: Ukra

Awesome! Did you have a chance to record it? No, I didn't get to record it--and since I was meant to be in work at the time, that's probably for the best. but when you'

I was just the opposite--no Italy game, but got to see the US game (actually was on tv--you know when they do the breaks to show people watching the game--I was on one of those!) The US game was very frustrating to watch. So close so many times, and yet, nothing. It should be noted, however, that Dempsey needs dancing lessons!

Totally opposite of me. I'm always boohooing about something. It can be embarassing at times. Same here Loca--I cry when I'm sad, I cry when I'm angry (that's the worst), and I cry when I'm extremely happy. I'm a blubbering idiot. The stained glass angel sounds cool--can we see a picture when

IMO - there were good and bad calls, just like in any game. Some of these were more than just "bad calls"--they were terrible. But it was equal opportunity terrible-ness. I hope the official isn't in any more games. He was just down right awful. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center

Don't you think the U.S. red tickets were bad calls Only the first one. The second one on Pope was definitely a yellow card, and since he already had one--that means he gets a red. But the first one, that was just BS. The officiating definitely left something to be desired all around--the

And that idea (on the Senator's part) is despicable. It may be despicable, but it's reality. A senator can't vote both ways on an issue--so chances are, he/she is going to vote the way that their voting based wants them to vote. If you aren't voting for her then it's not a loss if you are upset. However, the offices will still work on constitu

No, it doesn't mean that at all. Actually it does, you just don't happen to be one of those people. If everyone hated her they wouldn't vote for her. The Dems in your state like her/her policies. You unfortunately do not, but you and singerdave are two among many--and two that never voted for her in

Oh, I could also add that calling Mikulski wouldn't change things either, as she and her staff know she is a "safe" candidate for as long as she continues to run and is registered as a Democrat. She's not even been close to losing an election yet... Doesn't that mean that people like what she's doing?

Couple of points... thus killing the bill before it ever was voted upon Voting against cloture does not kill a bill, technically. It continues debate. The bill is still alive until it is voted down. New Engla

Sorry to hear things are tight, Nicky. My rent decreased for the next 12 months starting next month by more than 150 bucks Precisely how did you manage to get that to happen. Mine just went up $150/month--but we split it three ways so it isn't THAT painful. Don't feel guilty about Tor

Kentucky Fried Chicken shortened its product name to KFC to avoid the dreaded F-word. Is this that different than the other suit? The difference, I believe, is that it is a reasonable assumption upon viewing your KFC meal that it's been fried even if KFC wants you to think it's simply "kitchen fresh chi

I can't stop missing her, even if she's gone for just a little while. Nothing seems right without her. What a little treasure you have in Kole. Hope she's back soon (or already back since you wrote this over the weekend).

Oddly enough, I'm not seeing any of their 'dealing with tragic loss' expertise there. I'm seeing people farming out their tragic loss in order to grant themselves status they don't deserve. When GW decided to use 9/11 as part of his re-election campaign, he opened the door for this. The Republican par

I actually think it is cool--and I am sure that some of my runner friends would do it in a heartbeat. it tracks your workout and allows you to upload it to your computer--pretty sweet if you ask me. And actually, I'm one of those suckers that buys the iTune mixes by celebrities--I currently work out to Jennifer Garner's workout mix--but it's starting to get old.
