I agree Nic. Distance is a funny factor. Some of my dearest friends live on the other side of the world. But I know if I need them they will be there in a heartbeat (or a nine hour flight) and vice versa. Some friendship are just meant to be. There's some line in an email forward that says something about some friends being for a moment and others for a lifetime. It is sometimes hard to know the difference.

People used to tell me that I looked like Renee Zeilweiger (sp?), but it must have been in her Bridget Jones days and not in her Chicago days! My hair was also shorter and blonder then! Now I am repeatedly told that I look just like someone else they know--yup, I've got those standard features, just one of the crowd, nothing separating me from anyone else--ok, so they probably
There are plenty of people who are voting for Kerry because he is not Bush. Time and time again I have heard this stance chastised. "Do not define yourself simply by your opposition, stand for something." The point is well taken. It's better to be pro-something, than anti-something. That's probably why the great abortion semantics debates exists: pro-ch
Brad--if it's any consolation, I think you should have won--but I have no idea who the competition was! I'm guessing the winner was a fellow blogger. (was that too subtle?)
Suspeckted, I think they are referring to your comment on the Female Orgasm thread. I wouldn't say you were "bitching" in the SUV thread, just passionate! And passion is good!
1/ you are afraid of ? heights and mayonaise--though I make a conscious effort to overcome my fear of heights, and my fear of mayo is irrational as I actually do like the taste of it when I am fooled into eating it! 2/ you want to learn ? arabic, belly dancing, better spanish, how to let things roll of my back 3/ you do not understand ? hatred 4/ you can do very well ? i am the queen of organization--i love to
Agreed--gifts are great, but not the most important thing! One of my favorite dates was playing on the swings at the local park at night...it was fun, and free! Just another example of materialism, and possibily why relationships don't work. Putting so much effort and money into "doing things" has got to be stressful and doesn't really help to build a strong foundation for the rest of your relationship. Time was the cause o
I'm with Karma--haven't seen it but really really want to...there's never enough time in my day.
You rant and rave to the travel agency, but it does no good. You are stuck. After while, you tire of fighting and begin to look at what Holland has to offer. You notice the beautiful tulips, the kindly people in the wooden shoes, the french fries with mayonnaise, and you think, "this isn't exactly what I planed, but it's not so b
Just remember, your blogging Utopia isn't nessecarily "my" or someone elses Utopia.. Fair enough...though I still stand my by request for "good manners." <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-B
this last month I've been reading everything Marian Keyes I just got The Other Side of the Story--Marian Keyes releases are seriously delayed in the US. If you like her, you should check out Maeve Binchy--I really like Tara Road and the Scarlet Feather. The library near me doesn't have a grea
Nice to see you around Nicky. I'm not a morning person either. As far as I am concerned, 5o'clock, 6 o'clock and 7 o'clock only happen once a day. Luckily I work at a place that doesn't mind if I stroll in between 9:30 and 10 everyday. Granted, I work late too, so it all works out in the end. The bank thing sounds like a great idea. I should look into it!
And with wit like that, I'm sure I'd be falling all over myself to date you in the first place. Oh wait, probably not.
citahellion: I agree 100%, but then again, I would. I'm an addict. "Welcome to Readers Anonoymous, we are not here to judge, we want to help you help yourself."
I don't know if you can see The changes that have come over me In these last few days I've been afraid That I might drift away So I've been telling old stories, singing songs That make me think about where I came from And that's the reason why I seem So far away today This is the beginning of a song that my friend Patrick used to
No wonder I am single. Washington, DC is the third most expensive city in which to date, only outranked by New York City and Dallas. The Cost of Dating Index developed by Match.com tracked the cost of dating in ten major US cities. Match.com analyzed the price for six different types of dates to determine the overall cost for dating in the cities. The
Saiyan Robot: I think that you can be challenging and interesting without being negative and rude. I find Mignuna to be one of the most interesting and thoughtprovoking bloggers here and I've never seen her type a negative or hurtful word. The negative blogs just make me angry and sad--they don't manage to teach me anything. I don't find them fun.
Better than being addicted to TV, right? Or as my roommate says, "at least it's not cocaine." Hmm...good point!
Problem is, some people see simple disagreement as an attack. The attack that Zoo was referring to was not a simple disagreement. It was definitely a nasty attack. However, your point is taken that there are some people that can't handle disagreement. But then there are also some people who feel the n
You can volunteer, but only the creme de la creme are selected. I sort of figured that. Thanks for the clarification--I hadn't thought about uniformity at all. Makes sense though.

There is something about a book store that makes me weak. If I walk past a book store, I have to go inside. It's a law of nature. There appears to be a magnetic field that pulls me through the door and no matter how hard I resist my efforts are futile. Once in the store, I am lost among the books and magazines. Time has stopped as I wander up a
Finally, someone else who noticed. I wonder if the Color Guard comes from particular units that just don't have as many female members. Any of our military folks know the answer to this?
I thought of some other things that I should have included: * Find your cap locks key, and turn it off. Internet screaming hurts my head as much as real life screaming. Save the emphasis for when it is really needed. * The use of paragraphs makes every happy. You might write like a Pulitzer Prize winner, but my sore eyes won't get through the first line if you don't put it in paragraph form. Also, I have no problem
I'm very detailed oriented and have an excellent memory. I am the person who can always remember the lincense plate of the offending vehicle whose occupants littered on the side of the road. I will be able to tell you what you wore to dinner last week; in fact I could even tell you what I wore to my first day of first grade. However, I have noticed that n
