Welcome! Like Dharma said, don't worry about the style--you've mastered the use of paragraphs and that's definitely more than some around here! Looking forward to the next installment!

Others will claim that the sort of humiliation and torture that the US routinely use is common in many Middle East countries, why all the fuss now? These two arguments, almost exclusively from US commentators, once more serve to underline the rotting stench that has bceome embedded in the moral fibre of the United States. Also, just
Britain too is able now to detain people at whim, That's nothing new. They've been using that law for years to detain "suspected" members of the IRA. They can hold the suspect for 7 days without charges. <TD class="mb-Body-Q
*mutters under breath about hatching plan with shades to "teach muggaz lesson"* I'm all for it! And, I agree with Karma--there has to be a law that was broken, and if not, I'm lobbying for one!
The more a female is willing to sell their integrity, the less I would pay. Funny, I think women with integrity probably won't be selling it anyway
Someone once tried to explain to me why it feels like time goes by faster when you are older...let's see if I can remember it and explain it correctly...it's something like: when you are 10, 1 year is 10% of your life, but when you are 20 it is only 5% therefore, it's smaller and seems shorter...or something like that... yup, math's not my strong point...but I agree...time's been racing by...and my "life's to do list" isn't on track! ARGH!
Northern Ireland is incredible, and I would disagree that Belfast isn't a fun city--it's wonderful (I lived there for a while). But at the time of year that you are going, I'd avoid the North at all costs. You'll be there during Marching Season, and that's when most of the sane folks from the North go on holidays to avoid the havoc of the Orange Marches. That said, places to see include Galway, Cork, Kilkenny, the Ring of Kerry and the Aran Islands. Personally, I
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Prostitution is illegal in the UK, right? Seems to fit quite nicely in that category. I'm shocked that the parents thought it was funny! yea...ha. ha. too funny...no. Nice article mig!
Now that is not to say that I automatically dismiss the opinions of all foreigners--far from it--in fact there are a number of nonAmericans on this site whom I hold in high esteem. But you come at me with this "America is pure evil and must repent her sins" crap, and you might as well be talking to a brick wall. OG San
the other smile factor is when you're having a really horrible day and some cool stranger gives you a smile -- it just makes your day! I agree 100%--or if someone in a store or restaurant goes out of their way to be helpful--that usually makes my day. <TD c
An 18 year old kid? What a difference he/she could make in the world if he/she put their talents toward good rather than toward wanton distruction! Thanks for the scoop!
You've missed the entire point of the article. I clearly stated that often I DON'T AGREE with US Foreign Policy--if you missed that, go back and reread. If you aren't going to read the article, I'm not going to debate with you. The post is about the double standard that I have that it is ok for me to criticize the US government, but I don't want nonAmerican's to do the same. I recognize the hyprocrisy of it, but at the same time, it's a knee jerk react
Fuck I'm Good Just Ask Me sounds rather sexual Thanks for the translation.
the only reaction that I can muster is: WTF were they thinking? I hadn't heard of Harman, but I'll keep my eyes out for stories on her. I'm impressed with your military knowledge! Thanks for all the technical information, makes it easier to understand what's going on.
forgive my ignorance, what is figjam?
Unfortunately there didn't seem to be too much integrity or common sense available at Abu Ghraib. well said and thanks for the translation, or should I just thank Dave---is he still hiding out somewhere around here? I'm a little frightened by Rumsfeld's comment that the worst is yet to come...I can not even begin to imagine what
Do you have a military to english translator?
wow. I guess I just thought that it would fall under fratinization (is that spelled right?), but that's only with for different ranks, right? I'd ask my Dad (an Army guy), but I'll get a seven hour response as opposed to a quick answer!
Thanks for the clarifications--the only thing I'm not torn about is the fact that she (and the others) definitely needs to be held accountable for her actions. An unrelated question: getting pregnant while in Iraq--that's got to be some sort of violation, no?
Dharma: This is the question that I've been trying to answer since this came out. Senator McCain was pretty tough on Rumsfled asking him precisely what orders were given to these soldiers--were they ordered to "soften" the Iraqis and what did that order mean. I personally would not want a former Vietnam POW grilling me. But then, even if she was ordered, she still should have known it was wrong. Rumsfeld commended the soldier who finally spoke up
I am the first to admit that I often do not agree with US foreign policy. But, being an American , that is my right. I can speak out against my government because my government protects me with the right to freedom of speech. I can argue that my government has done some pretty shady things in the past. I can even stand up and say that I think the war wa
shades you're speaking of here and there. Not in the Arab world = where it counts most I was speaking of in the Arab world--that's where we need to "fix it." The first step to fixing it is to take some responsibility for what happened, and I am surprised that Rumsfeld actually did. To be honest, I was shocked that Rumsfeld said
So tell me, what's so cool about your screen name, Blogamania?
Ross came out of the closet. I really like the funny Brad We should see him more often I think that would have been a much better ending--definitely more interesting than the oh-so predictable w
I've thought of another: musicians--especially the lead singer in a band...
