If you drag your game on and on while nothing is improving except for money then your scores arn't going to still climb.. That's the main problem though JTQ (how are you doing, by the way ), from Darkhosis'
Magnumaniac
About the medals, I see them with this URL: Link, but not with this one: Link. I think all medal views are disabled in the "Journals" section by design - gives you a low bandwidth option.
Anyway, I ran that game out to 21 years, in honor of my competition Magnumaniac's 21 yr victory. Year 21 - 1524670 score, 309227/turn econ Heh, heh - I guess you had a few more pop than me if you are playing on abundant settings - max pop I've ever got to is .006. That 21 year game was the resu
My last game moved me to 37th spot. 180k Challenging military. Nice one ED.. Yor duly demolished, one hopes! <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Tabl
I have been toying changing mine to one of the following: Both look cool DG - I think the all sepia one just edges it though. Have fun with your new gfx card - I just did a bit of "system improvement" myself, and might try to resurrect the abundant everything scenario again (now running 2Gb
However i have extended the numbers of Senators here by one. That position is given to Magnumaniac Wow! Thanks DG. I'm already looking over my shoulder though, with e-stab and Lurker joining up <img src="h
Cheers Moosey - you are a fount of wonderous knowledge! Total re-install did not fix the issue, so I'm left to the mercy of the Stardock folks which, with Brad's obsession about creating an unforgiving human-destroying Drengin AI, has me a little worried it must be said <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIG
Basically, is it possible to win on Suicidal through pure diplomacy, Yes! The key is fighting wars on your terms, or (a much better option) to have all the AIs fighting wars on your terms while you sit back and watch the fun. If an AI is at war with everyone else but you... they have limited options as to where to send their freighters, and mos
second this idea Thirded!!!
2. The maximum population a planet can support is (PQ+1)^3 * 20million (subject to an absolute cap of 100 billion). So the cap on a class 4 is 2.5 billion, and on a class 10 is 26.62 billion etc. However, the way the game mechanics work mean that as long as your population on a planet is below the cap for that PQ, then population growth will occur at the normal rate that turn, so taking the aforementioned PQ10 - if you have 26.61 billion and a growth r
Seems to have multipliers assigned according to the victory type as far as I can tell from a few tests. Add up your totals, then multiply by... Technological victory: 1 Alliance victory: 1.5 Cultural victory: 1.75 Military victory: 2.5 and you will get your final submission score.
Need a resistance is futile button in the diplo screen. Why? I've got loads on the main map - it's just that the game insists on calling them "Troop Transports" Go kick some lily-livered do-goode
Hey guys, just dropping in to say that I joined the fun! Nice to see you e-stab! I can handle gigantic, common OK - but tried an all abundant gigantic at the weekend and PC couldn't handle it. I
Magnum, Darkhosis got a 800K game. Maybe he had access to super computer and finished your Gigantic abundant everything game Maybe... I wasted over a day on that before bashing my head against the wall and giving it up as a bad job. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border
remember that 80-90% of customers are not happy about current tech trading, go on the forums and see how much thread there are about tech trading annoyance So, with sales up above 70,000 at the last count, please provide the links to the 56000-63000 threads with people complaining about tech trading... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
Not to mention some of the nastier random events such as the Fundamentalist minor race spawn that only affect evil. Fundies seem to be toned down a bit from the GC1 version - at least they've only taken 3-4 of my planets each time I've had them arrive so far. In GC1 I had them completely wipe me out a couple of times (literally, every planet).<
That's right - as long as your pop is below that number, it will grow (up to the absolute maximum cap of 100 billion regardless of PQ) - which means that on a PQ9, the max pop is 20 billion, but if its at 19.999 billion and growing at 250 million a week, you will actually get 20.249 billion on the planet. Not sure how it's handling the displayed PQ being reset at reload - that kind of confuses the issue. I think it remembers the PQ increase from soil enhancement etc in the max pop ca
Still off work with this damn Flu bug Hmmm... got PC fixed and GC2 re-installed... off work with flu bug... I can see how that works!
I figured that total population plays a big role for the score in the end. Do you have any other hints regarding the scoring - or are they "business secrets"? Pop seems to be the biggest thing, probably tied in with approval rating per unit of pop averaged out over the game. So keep your approval high, know the max pop each planet can sustain
1. My games so far at suicidal have been based around building up a monster economy as quickly as possible. I now tech trade only at first contact in order to gain parity and a sound economic base, and then seem to be able to easily out-pace them all in research. The Ais seem reluctant to research advanced & master trade - so I always give those to them all for nothing, knowing that they will start sending freighters my way which further improves my economy and also helps keep them friendly. Oth
What settings did you use for this one? Was Occasional stars, common planets, common habitable planets, loose clusters, abundant anomalies, normal tech rate, max 9 opponents, culture / tech victories disabled, custom race. Got a big boost around 3 years from the end, with the all planets within 2 sectors event - got 50 new PQ11 plane
Hey pal, take a chill pill The guy was trying to help you - use a different name for your design. You either haven't changed the name away from the core design, or inadvertantly picked a name that already exists as a core ship type!
They're making me an UpgradeShip API for the AI players. Now I can really bring hell down on people. Whohaha. Hey Brad, just because a few ill informed muppets give you a hard time on the forums because they didn't upgrade their video drivers, there's no need to get nasty... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif" bord
I think they might have fixed something with the meta submissions in the latest patch... first game that's displayed the right difficulty level for me, and look at the score!!!! 1 Pond Scum 15 Military Conquest 567172 Suicidal Gigantic v1.0X.1 3/9/2006 4:54:03 PM
Were you of exactly the same ethical alignment as the Iconians? This plays a big part in surrender decisions in my experience.
