While contacting the large application vendor might be the best thing to do in that case, Stardock developpers might still want to know about it so that they can fix the issue (or try to add a workaround in case this is a bug in the attachment viewer code that get triggered by WB somehow). You can contact support at [email protected] . You should also contact the application vendor and let them know there is a problem with the

The one from the beta version of ObjectDock found on SDC should work too. I'm afraid there is no real way to bypass that unfortunately. I think this is fixed internally so the next update will have the fix, but nobody knows when it will be published.

There seems to be a problem server-side that stalled the weather updates. Weather gadgets should still work fine as they use a newer version of the API. As Hankers wrote, a temporary workaround is to try to replace the StardockWeather.ocx in the ObjectDock folder by the one installed by MyColors or ThemeManager (if you can run weather gadgets from Stardock, it should be installed on your machine). You can find it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock (or C:\Progr

Probably a glitch on the server side. Impulse might have downloaded new xml data for the ObjectDock update and this has now been pulled out from the public server for some reason. IIRC Impulse will first load the local XML data and then proceed to get the latest version from the servers, but if the local version is newer it doesn't overwrite it and so you see that phantom update each time it starts. Try reseting data again, hopefully it should clear that problem.

If I understand your first question correctly, you want to modify an object properties or call some of its script functions from another object. You can refer to another object by using DesktopX.Object(" "). . If the object is scripted, you will have to use DesktopX.ScriptObject(" "). Keep in mind that if you modify the state, you'll need to implement an Object_OnStateChange(state) callback to be able to react to

In the Object Desktop 2009 Preview , Brad wrote that there was an update planned for DX in 2009 and then DesktopX 4 around or after the Windows7 release. I've reported some crashes and problems to be looked at for the update. Don't know if they will make the cut, but hopefully the big crash bugs are going to be fixed. Unless it's causing a crash, any new bug report or feature request is probably no

You have to add the background texture to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\Vista Images\Textures and then edit the backgrounds.uis file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\Vista Images and add a new entry for your texture.

This was called WebBlinds and this was, shall we say, an interesting experience [e digicons]:-"[/e]
How about a custom web browser that can skin everything from it's window borders and toolbar fonts right down to its design, buttons, even menu bar items?
WindowBlinds already does that for IE (and Firefox minus the icons). Final 1.1 build with a way to avoid flickering! Examples have been updated using the new API. Make sure to check the new polygon example [e digicons]:smitten:[/e]

IIRC there was hints in the past that this might be implemented into DeskScapes in the future. This was quite some time ago and before the 2.5 release so I've no idea what the current status is on that. Maybe for the next major version...

Hey Zu! So, did you get somebody to do some animations? I'll probably update the scripts to use a timer instead of sleep calls as this could cause a DesktopX crash in some cases (another bug I need to report [e digicons]:|[/e] ). If a more complex animation behavior is needed, let me know (I can add separate roll/in/out frame sequences definitions if requested). Right now, it takes a simple png file with all the frames. It needs to loop perfectly and needs to have the last fr

Here is a test widget. Drop the dre.png file from AlexG object into the AppData folder to make it work. You can add your own animation by adding the png file to the AppData folder and editing the DreidelConfig.ini file to adjust the frame for each face. Now we need some new animations [e digicons]:|[/e]

Already reported: LJZ-666823 IIRC this is an unfortunate side-effect of the way transparent explorer backgrounds are implemented. I think there is a thread somewhere where Neil explains what's happening. You might want to try to disable transparent explorer backgrounds, this should restore the colored folders for compressed/encrypted. <span cl
So, why do they waste it developing software like Impulse when they had a perfectly functional Stardock Central?
This has been discussed to death in other threads, but in a nutshell: large archive support (pretty important for new games), increased security, a more manageable code base, better external publisher support (TBD) and a few other things. In any case, you can still use Stardock Central for everything ODNT.

New 1.1 test build with shadows support [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] Since I added quite a few things and refactored the whole state management code, I would rather put out a test build before uploading it to Wincustomize. So if you have a few canvas based objects, please test the new build and report any problems and regressions. Thanks!

Sounds like corrupted resources inside the logon dlls. If you have only one account, you can just type the password and press enter and it will log you on. If you have multiple accounts try clicking where their icons should be on screen and then type your password. If that doesn't work, get your vista dvd and boot from it. Then go to repair mode and start a console. Go to "C:\Windows\System32". Type "xcopy imageres.dll imageres.dll.backup" <li
