Jeff - sorry to butt in but I had a similar worry a while ago - I had to backtrack to ZA4.5 and really didn't want to have to research all my permissions again. To cover my back I just took a screenshot or 2 of my Zone Alarm Program Control with all the necessary references so I'd have something to refer to after the install.

Yep - right click (context menu) gives that option. Tho its possible thats due to one of my extensions, I've lived with them so long I can't remember what's default and what's an add on function. But that is certainly possible.

The actual update is smooth and automatic once the process is started. There is a slight downside at the moment - I found that a fair few of my basic extensions were showing as non-compatible. This was fixable with several extensions (including Google Toolbar and Cookie Culler) by uninstalling and then re-installing from the relevant homepages.
I agree the leet is sick and wrong - but surely the spell checking is just obsessional behaviour
Yup, I didn't like the idea - but I updated on 2 different machines without any problems (I don't rely on XP to unzip for me though). If it helps at all - it seemed to be good practice, when I did it, to return all the various skins, cursors, boot, login etc to default state and then install SP2 (return to preferred state after succesful loading of SP2) I also had to reboot a couple of times before bootskin settled in properly. Also some have advocated clearing the prefetch

While I think I've probably bought a fair amount - some of it just a kinda solidarity/support thing - but I guess the easy answer is if you're not sure, don't buy . I'm running XP SP2 and I just test downloaded a recent bootskin - no problems - straight to my directory and opened up Bootskin to indicate it had imported succesfully.

In 'Edit' mode (as opposed to user mode) in DX, choose 'List Objects' from the context menu. This will display every part of all the DX objects - if necessary go down the list deleting each object part, one by one until they are all gone. This has worked for me when all else has failed.
Its far from cr*p - it is a neat little app that does what it says on the tin - it plays nicely with my desktop and my laptop, which have very different mobos and apart from a recent beta version has been running the systats etc seamlessly. I personally find it holds a lot more in a tighter config than the free OD. Particularly important on the laptop which lacks the screenspace of my desk monitor.
