Okay Joe - on my laptop I did a more traditional upgrade. Uninstalled 0.9.3 taking the option to leave folders intact. When 1.0 installs it informs you of a few extensions/themes that need updating and asks permission to go ahead and update. Those it can't update it marks as disabled in order to make it obvious which you need to uninstall. Now as I just use the default setting for my profile as it's all I need, its difficult to tell you 100% that you'll be fine if you've got more than the one
Hopefully my final update on this, re above I did find the post that referred to adding a line to boot.ini files but luckily this wasn't necessary. A simple uninstall and re-installing of bootskin appears to have done the trick and now all is as it should be.
Just updated Toshiba satellite laptop to SP2- same process and everything fine except m$ bootscreen flashing up before my own choice shows. Seem to remember there was a fix for this posted elsewhere on board. If anyone cares to repost this gem of knowledge here it will be much appreciated.
Joe - I'm running the latest Firefox - no problems at all (XPhome+SP2). If you're concerned about your bookmarks go into: Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export and you can export all your bookmarks as an html file to anywhere you want to keep a copy - and then import once your up and running again - it works fine. Normally extensions and themes are also carried over. On this occasion tho I completely deleted my Firefox folder before installing 1.0 because I wanted a totally clean inst
I just bit the bullet and installed SP2. Seemed to have survived it - though early days - well hours . Took the approach of unloading all graphic add-ons, WB, cursor XP, Icon packages etc before installing, together with replacing default bootscreen and logon. Then on completion, just for neatness once I was satisfied all was up and running I cleared my prefetch files. My system
The Journeyman you fool Mum - is that you ?
Well you don't expect a self-respecting kitty to catch its own fish do ya ?
Goodmorphing - you're as nutty as a fruitcake Oh yeh - you should have a word with your local fisherfolk - they should be using kitten friendly nets.
Cheers Magnus - always interesting to learn a little more about how people and languages interact.
Spent way too much this month already - so I guess I'll have to make do with the Lite version
Alright I'll ask - is it at all possible for Swedish schoolboys to make 'naughty' jokes about the nickname Dick4u ?
Personally I like that there are different levels - it makes it sort of like getting my photo's back from the chemist - going through loads to find the one gem that made the roll worthwhile. Sort of like treasure hunting. I'm also sort of struck by the concept of 'sniffiness' in art - artists have frequently fallen back on cheats, technology and guile. "Over 100 years of speculation and controversy surround claims that the great seventeenth-century Dutch artist, Johannes Verme

Welcome DryPenguin Well the traditional congrats on getting WB. Now for the rest, you will need additional programs to run the objects seen in some of the screenshots. Check out the Library to the left. Clocks and calendars are probably most populated in the DesktopX variants. Rainlendar and also Sysmetrix and Object Dock. Each Library has a link at the top that will guide you to where
I like that his stuff is compact and very often testable. Also they tend to be switch on and off without any problems. I like to keep copies of stuff I've used in the one folder so I can keep track of the little changes I've made and have the program I need to reverse them if necessary within easy reach.
Joe - depending on what you've got popping up - you might want to check this out http://www.grc.com/stm/ShootTheMessenger.htm It's one of Steve Gibson's Three Musketeers.

I use a nice little freebie app that I have a shortcut to in the dock http://www.programming.de/ Its free, and simple. Once on page, click on downloads in menu and the World Time Clock is about 4th down.
I think I only really get it when I'm on a site with flash stuff going on. Then again I'm stuck with cheap onboard graphics on this at the moment and I don't think it can summon up the energy to shake . My Toshiba laptop is a little more sophisticated and similarly doesn't suffer from shakes either.
Tell me about it - I remember a coming out of a pub 20 yrs ago and seeing a women leant against the lamp-post. I'd not travelled 10ft before I heard her voice wafting over the still, night-air. "would you like sooooper sex" I heard the voice ask in a husky voice - well, like a fool I ordered the soup..... mixed messages are a b**ch. [Message Edited]
I could be mistaken but I feel folks are coming at this from a lot of different angles and aren't even defining words in the same terms. Try this and see if it makes sense. For whatever reason, and we don't no exactly why, the question was asked if a screenshot was suitable for WC. There's a variety of answers, much reading into of answers things that were never proposed, some backtracking for the sake of harmony etc. I'm fairly sure that the majority of us will star
