I guess the thing to do if you aren't getting many French responses is to check out on more local websites to see who uses Object Desktop and then form a small support group with those able to linking directly with the forums here to post messages requesting and offering support. Failing that Patskins you're gonna have to do what I do if I come across a foreign language that I need to translate, which is to use Google and find a translation page of which there are many and they are free

sphere''s are out - latest news actually takes us near to the Universe being a dodecahedron http://physicsweb.org/article/news/7/10/5 I actually suspect space is more like a field that contains energy/matter that like any other field eventually dissipates at its ''edge''. At this point light is no longer a constant, Einstein goes out the window, as without this constant, time/space is no longer relative - basically true space that can''t be defined by our physical laws as app

Hey less of the age thing - I smoked for 30 years and finally gave up last August. I chew a hell of a lot of nicotine gum tho, but at least the air's cleaner and I don't have to worry about 'no smoking' areas

You can get most of the weather objects to work for UK on most programs including desktopX, object dock and sysmetrix. UK post codes are often not the way they work, at least not directly - the two most usual approaches seem to be either to enter your town followed by ,england or ,united kingdom or the slightly more tortuous approach involves first going to:- http://uk.weather.com/ entering your postcode or town in the provided search engine which will take you to the

Ok, I know this problem cos sometimes you just can't seem to grab and delete an object from the desktop and I know the answer - and its even better than the ever delightful China Cats . In DesktopX Edit mode 'List Objects' which will give you a complete list of the DX objects on your desktop - So go down the 'Object ID' list in the left hand column until you identify the offending object then just right

This may be the information you're looking for http://www.thetechguide.com/howto/xpbootlogo/ I sadly lack the personal experience needed to validate the info - perhaps others will check out the link and offer their opinions

Don't take it personally Spider - its another reason to keep it simple when asking for help - once someone spot's an unintended piece of humour, a post can become sidetracked - sometimes it gets very funny and or useful, sometimes it just crashes and burns. Just post a smile and enjoy the boards.

Ok - I've just about got over the tragedy/comedy of your original post spider so as a fellow newbie I offer the following suggestion. Break it down/keep it simple. Draw/create a button or widget first, then post a link to it on the skinning board using a free image host such as my favourite http://www.myimgs.com and ask for suggestions as to how you can make the image achieve what you want. I'm sure it's easier to help when you've got something solid to work with <img src="http://images.stard

Now now - this thread has made me realise my two mortgages, credit card repayments and step-daughter at university aren't as financially painful and tragic as they may have seemed to me in the past. In fact, and in the spirit of this thread if anyone would like to take this opportunity to relieve me of some of this monetary workload I feel sure I can respond by offering a piece of pie or some pudding in return - of course my wife and I may starve if you take our last meal but we are willing to
