I wasn't thinking of a REG fix at all, but now with AI it's a LOT easier to find the answer! I asked Copilot: "In Windows 11 Pro, when I right click on an app pinned to the taskbar, there are only 13 recent files listed both pinned and recent. How can I increase the number of items listed?" and got the following answer: To increase the number of recent and pinned items in the taskbar's Jump List on Windows 11 Pro, you can modify the Windows Registry. Thanks, but that post is from 2019 and does not work. I have over 30 years experience in IT and was working with REG files probably since before you were born! As I mentioned I've been using the software since Windows 8 in 2011 when it was Start 8, and Start 10, and I'm certain that they both had the ability to increase the number of MRU items on the right click of a Taskbar Icon to an app. Thanks.
Basj, Thanks for the quick reply! I'm using Start 11 Version 2.51 with Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2 OS build 26100.3323 (I'm on the Insider Beta edition). I'm talking about the list presented when you right click on an app icon in the taskbar. This is what I see w
I'm a LONG time user of Start ## - since 2011 / Windows 8! I typically have a large screen and have set the number of pinned and MRU icons shown when right clicking high. I can't find thee setting now and stuck with only 13 pinned and MRU icons. I hope that feature is still there! On a completely different and minor issue, before Windows 11 I'd make the task bar higher - typically 2 icons high. The System Tray icons would wrap, and - what I really want -

Hello, I've been using your Start (Menu) software since Windows 8 and have had very few problems over the years (and STILL use the Windows 7 setup!). I'm on the Windows 11 Insider 1.5. At some point this year I had problems with icons pinned to the Taskbar, and ever since then most of the icon's thumbnails pop up in a completely different location from where the icon is. For example, an icon's thumbnail that is 23 icons away from the Start button pops up when I hover my cursor over it
I got it to Pin, but it's at the end of the Taskbar and can't get it to move. I'm running Win 11 Pro.
BUG REPORT: So I tried expanding the Taskbar to two rows, but it has problems! This is what it looks like normally at one row: Icons are Safely Remove, Bluetooth, Task Manager, Dropbox, Intel Driver Support, HP ToolboxFX, OneDrive, and Windows Security. Icons in a single row are hardware icons and the time. After going to two rows, it looks like this
I don't know if I've tried that since Win11! That used to add the weekday to the System Time, but not this time. Thanks for the reminder!
Two short questions. Is there a way to pin a shortcut to a document to the Taskbar (Windows 11). I was able to do it when I first got Win11, but it doesn't seem to work now. The other question is that I used to have a two row task bar with tiny icons, and as a result the day of the week, time, and date all appeared in the System tray. I haven't found a way to do that with Win11/Star11. Is it even possible? Thanks! Jerry
