Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

For the first time in my long experience in culture bombing, I am the one being bombed. Some wily Arceans have got some more influence than I do, and maybe it is because a lot of their starbases are popping up in my space. Well, oh well, looks like it's time to gear up for war. Looks like it is going to take more time than I thought to wrap up this game.

(WARNING: Gripe Ahead)
On another topic, it looks like score inflation is official and deliberate. The theory is to make it more tempting for folks to go to the newer versions. The sad part is that it really penalizes players who have been around longer and rewards noobs who come out of nowhere and can outscore the whole Metaverse in a very few games. (This has happened before.) There is a big difference between a talented, aggressive newer player that earns those spots by competing on the same scale as the experienced players vs. any noob who can get a head start with vastly inflated scores while the experienced players' old version games drag them down like stones. Well, enough of the gripe session and back to my more cheerful galactic domination.

Well the 1.44 does not inflate the larger galaxies I can tell you that.

But one thing I don't like, those that have Drengin.net get the new versions beta a week or two before the rest of us. They have a jump start.

Woah! EA is now above GROSS by a humongous 0.4 (77234.5 and 77234.1)metaverse points!!! Anyone else ever observed closer scores between two empires!?

I thought I was applying for membership, but I seem to have already joined the G.R.0.S.S. empire. I rooted for the governement in E.T. The only aliens I intend to leave alive are those I can't manage to kill.

I hope no one minds I'm here.

No, we don't mind people dropping on in and signing up. Besides, willing victims are so much better than making ye walk the plank later. Muwahahaha! ARR! LOL

Welcome aboard. And if you ever you have any questions about what it means to be GROSS, just ask if the long user manual thread here doesn't help.

Welcome aboard the Survey ship of Doom Cyper Pax. Guess We have you to thank for keeping us ahead of the Euro-disunion. :)

We was just a hiding to plunder their French wine and women!!!!!

And actually, Last week 6 empires were within about 5k of each other. Now that was competition. Speaking of which, I must get back to my medium map tough Cow. It needs milking. :) Hit that turn key hit that turn key harder harder!!!

Well...I cracked, I signed up for an empire!

As I stated in another thread...I decided that GROSS is the closest thing to human supremecy without "singling out" a certain country or nationality.

I'm happy to be here...and looking forward to some PHAT metaverse submissions.

May all aliens beware...Alzandrion is coming to strip your DNA apart and clone me a new butler!

Wow, looks like this arms race is getting pretty serious. To think that at the first of June, the #1 empire was playing with about 56,000 point. Now there are roughly 83,000 points on the table and the top ranks are still fighting hard. The Euros look like they have recovered a bit from their family matters and have sent out the privateers to track down us renegades. Well, all I can say to that is: Catch us if you can, and be ready for a fight if you do. It takes a lot more of a lead than a fraction of a point for a fraction of a day to slow down GROSS! So, let's put the solar winds at our back and fly. And I will get the mines ready if we happen to need them... :)

Hey, we don't single out any nationality, we just reprensent the anzac spirit, with mateship, loyalty, and, of, course, BEER. Good beer too.

Honk if you're horny.
Join ANZAC if you're thirsty. ;p

@ pontius: Bloody grave-robber, lol. Then again, my games end up pretty similar, so I can't point any fingers. Good and evil is pretty dodgy - you get called evil just for finding jobs for all your new migrants (slave factory is SUCH a dirty name), but those diplomacy stunts still leave you smelling clean :)

I mean really. I put up all those accident victims in my factories all nice. And then I get this uproar when I put em to work. Sheesh.

LMAO I didn't rob the graves of those fundy goobers. I robbed them, then put them in the grave.

I told Impune to cringe in fear my very first post after forming this empire. He scoffed. He isn't scoffing any more. WTG G.R.O.S.S. ers!!!

If you haven't already, download 1.05 There's a glitch with the governors, but it seems ok and Staffa at least is putting up bombs with it.

"LMAO I didn't rob the graves of those fundy goobers. I robbed them, then put them in the grave."

Yeah, but every month you dig them up again, steal their credit card, run up a massive bill for whores, rum, and everything else pirates go for - and them, to top it all off, you f'n put the card back in his pocket, bury him again, and wait till the first of the next month to do it all again! Some cultures believe that if you get buried with money, you'll have a better afterlife. You're sending those poor bastards there with a credit card debt the size of jupiter! They'll be working in Satan's sweat shops for a million years just to pay off your golden belt-buckle! Have you no shame?

Oh, sorry, I forgot your evil face there for a sec :)
Naaaah we don't bury em and dig em up again. Most of the time we just dress em up in concrete galoshes and throw em over board. We just keep the credit cards..... Too much work all that digging.

Hmmm. CM has 8 games at the new version (lowest score Tiny map: 5,196) and zooms to number 3. Hmmmm.

And he cries the most about others "unfair advantages" Yet he gets the beta of the inflated score version earlier than us and zooms to the top with it.

Oh well. Does anyone know If we can finish out old games up in the new version?

And we seem to have lost 18oo points overnight. Arrrgh Mateys. Shiver me timbers. We'll get em. Gunner Gerakkin Charge Death Ray Zorchers. Load all Amm tubes. Get the Silicoids ready to beam over to them. No not the rock creatures from moo. Our secret weapon. Cloned Victoria's secret models from the 20th century. Oh yea But these Silicon beauties explode upon impact. :)

Uh pontius, what do you think he did? He didnt have
the version any earlier then you, he just had 5 saved
games waiting for submission.

Nope, if he saved up and submitted, all the games would show submission date as today. But his 1.05 games ranged from 26 May 03.

The million dollar question - Why was Code Monkey's scores recalculated?

a) It is the result of another 1.05 bug

b) Brad is testing the recalc on CM so that he could next implement it for all Metaverse players

c) Brad recalced CM's scores because he got fed up with CM's nagging

d) Brad's intention is to recalc only CM's score, causing his score to shoot up and stick out like a sore thumb, thus attracting the righteous indignation of Metaverse players against CM
Reply #824 Top
But then that would beg the question. Why didn't he shoot up faster? since his submissions on the 5.0 date from back a ways. Hmmmm.

Must be a recalc. And Froggy must have done him first to fulfil option D. You know. Frog is turning more and more G.R.O.S.S. every day if that's the case.

T-Man in the metaverse submission problems thread:
'I am going to zero out the updated flags for all 1.044000 games so if you want you can update them with 1.05 and get a more accurate score.

Now i'm tempted to find out if i still have a saved game from my only 1.044 win (Score, leader of the points :))
