Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Pontius, what was your take on SWG? Why would it be TOO addictive
End of quote

It's alot, and I mean alot like EQ. It's also quite different. It's quite slow (not much combat) but it's more realistic in that regard. In real life even warriors don't fight 24/7. If you want alot of treasure, don't expect it here. I tried it only once. I know better than to try again. One can really really get way too immersed in that roleplaying kind of stuff. 6, 12,18, 24 hours can pass in a heartbeat. And to do this game justice does require quite a bit of time investment. And I simply don't have THAT kind of time to play it.

Oh and ask Pontius for me whether you guys are evil or not, our whole discussion about it long ago and now this defection have me all confused.
End of quote

There is no defection from G.R.O.S.S. One is aboard only so long as he or she wishes and no more. One may leave the crew at any port of call. Any crewman from another ship once captured can either A. Earn his keep till the next port of call where he is free to go or B. Be tossed overboard. That is our way.

We allow evil and therefore are evil. Same as the MWC, Same as any other empire. The only difference is, we admit it. I guess we weren't evil enough for Gibbie, so he joined a Good empire. HMMM. Guess you aren't the only one confused.

then again it does sounds like your lil buddy EB may have some more beginner games up his sleeve.

I notice he's ahead of you. Must be a witch to know you haven't caught him yet. Cry on. Cry on.
GO EB GO!!!!

And yes we are the comeback kids of the metaverse. Some of our players (myself included) are not able to submit for some reason or another. That will be fixed. We'll get em. Don't worry Gang. We'll get em. Got in-laws again this weekend, but then I'm gonna turn a lil crank of me own. Assuming I can get Galciv's lil ole memory problem fixed and the game stops crashin, The 20k Pontius bomb crank will turn. I've got 5 or 6 Gigantics up to the crashing point now. The problem seems to be I'm out of memory, but a quick lil ole jaunt with the brother in law to comp usa will fix that up nicely. Once fixed. Watch out.

Idle. Could you please spit the chaw out before you blow the rasberries. It's a pain executing a hard port back hard starboard maneuver to keep the chaw off the viewing screan cameras.

Pontius #1429: I never saw the attraction of EQ- all of that rat killing at the start, and I've always been a solo player (brought up on Japanese RPGs). I tried it for a day and never went back.
But having read so many players here once played EQ, I now wonder whether those players who got lucky and found a good group of mates to go adventuring with did have a really addictive time. But how hard would it be to find a good group? And then have to set a time suitable for everyone to play? Do such games allow reality to intrude? But I suppose that is your point. And, can I admit, just between you and me, the last Star Wars movies have killed that story for me.

Sorry it took so long to answer everyone. My puter is having big time problemo's.
But yes, I thought episode 1 was mediocre, and episode two was poor at best. The acting was horrid, the script terrible, and the Yoda Battle comical in a monty python killer rabbit way. The thing about SWG is it doesn't take so many mates. One or two is all that are needed for some pretty good fun. But yes, it involves a big time time investment. I was public enemy #1 for many guilds in EQ. I had a bounty on my character's head. None, ever got her.

Welcome aboard Praetor Just go to the metaverse, sign your character up there, then click on our empire, and hit the join button. It's that easy. If it doesn't work the first time try again. Now go kick some Alien Buttoxe.

1st Salvo of missles away Captain Pontius, soon we will be lords of the metaverse once again

Alright. Keep up the good work missile frigate squadron leader.

Oh and Drop bear. If you didn't like EQ, you won't like SWG. I really think the time investment will be way too high. It's even worse than EQ in that regard because it takes so long to heal up to fight again. Actually, on second thought, It's not as great as I thought the first time.

For Crimes Against Piracy

"keelhaul verb, transitive." Kit tightened the reinforced ropes around Drop Bear's wrists. "First definition, nautical: to haul a man... or a koala bear in your case... under a ship from one side to the other or from stem to stern, a former punishment." Kit looked around the Survey Ship of Doom, measuring with his eyes. The other pirates paused and waited for a new command. "Hmmm... I didn't think about doing it from stem to stern. We'll try that." He carried the struggling animal on his good shoulder and the dictionary under his opposite arm. From the bow of the ship the pirates began to rework the lines. "And this mention of it being a 'former' punishment must be a typo. I think it's supposed to read 'a form of punishment', wouldn't you agree, chum?" Drop Bear's mouth was gagged. A muffled noise was all that could be heard. EBZ repeated "chum" with a chuckle. Kit continued, "second definition: to reprove severely." He titled his head back and laughed. "Well THAT'S an understatement!" The helpless koala was hoisted into position. "Do try to stay conscious, oh Evil Fuzzy One." Kit smiled as Black Smoke handed him the rope that would initiate the fun. Without delay Kit jerked the rope. WOOOOOOSH!!! Bakka swooped down, grabbed his friend, and cut him free all in one motion. "Freedom Force!" the bat yelled over his beating wings. His smile gone, Kit sighed and dropped the rope. "Oh bother" was his only comment.

Pontius arrives on the scene. Why that Bat actually did us a favor. Don't you know Kit that keel hauling is a heck of alot more fun while sailing over a reef?

If you chum the water before the hauling, any reef would be shark invested..... But I like your thinking.

I took a more radical solution to my memory problems last Feb, boss. 768 MB. Even my somewhat lowly 700 MHz processor can keep up fairly well with most games now. I admit that the performance difference between 256 MB and 768 was not astounding, but it was a definite improvement.

I upped mine from 128 to 384 mg and my processor is at a lowly 600 mhz. Mine maxes out at 768 but one of the 3 ramslots is damaged so in effect it's gonna top out at 512.
