Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Do you see the difference? You're score is in sheer numbers, not quality of work. Of course sheer numbers will triumph over a lesser quantity. Now look at this:

Just some advice, DA: do not take credit for what score inflation has done. Back in the day, a few hundred points was great. Now 60K is considered a top game. The scores of some of the elders here would pimpslap you if increased to today's standards. Some of us may be past our prime (and I am one who readily admits it), but we got the job done. Is it enough for today's Masoverse? No, the score inflation is apparently going to continue. The players of today will wrestle with that when they are a few months into the game if the historical trend continues. When will the Evil Empire rightfully inherit the mantle from GROSS, the original evil empire? When it surpasses GROSS, obviously. You get points for effort, but the grade is still incomplete until you evil folks pass us up. With our current level of diminished activity and the Evil Empire's growth spurt adding to the number players submitting the better newer version scores, that could happen in even only a few weeks. As I have said before to other "young" empires: come on up. We are ready.

The scoring system was changed twice because G.R.O.S.S. broke the bank. And we told everyone how to do it. We then told everyone how to beat Maso.

I agree that banter is great, I also appreciate that I, for one, am a touch sensitive about recent arbitary changes in sacoring system that only reward one way/level of playing. Can we let bygones be bygones and move on? Or would it be more evil to just keep having a go at each other? ( ;) )

I just added a chapter to my Round Robin story on WotW (although it hasn't been approved yet). When it's approved, take a look and see what you think!

I've took the liberty of dragging G.R.O.S.S. into it and I hope you'll consider contributing to the story! Anyone can add to a Round Robin. As I explained in the Fellowship thread, this story is very open ended so far and can be taken in any direction. Events can happen outside of the current story location so long as they still pertain to the overall story. You guys are some of the best story writers in the Metaverse, and I hope you'll consider jumping in!

The points for maso games are way out of line with points for levels below. My last submission only required one alien to have intelligence increased for maso, it was on gigantic and was less than 30,000. Also took days (actual time) to play. Seems unbalanced and best way to score is tiny/maso and crank. Doesn't reward big picture players at all.

Agreed. Best way on any size is now to crank through the tech's real fast, just enough defense on cultural to get by. Surround any minors with scouts so enemies cannot take them, remember to throw that 1 ip bone every 3 turns and poof.... You can crank any size within a short time. Just doesn't seem all that fun to me any more. Have some real world issues to take care of, then I'll crank em out for the team. But that's about the extent of it.

It has the potential to make the masoverse an éxclusive place - where the few survive to score heavily - rather than an inclusive place where everyone at any level feels they're doing something worthwhile for the team. Hard to feel that while playing a normal small for 5k, when the maso gigantic scores 60k. Even though I have adapted to maso, I would gladly go back to the old scoring system - there seemed to be a better team feel about the place then.
