Pacem, don't worry about your difficulty. Play where you are comfortable. As you get better, you will want to challenge yourself. Most of us around here understand that real life gets in the way of playing from time to time. Just play when you have a chance and keep in touch in the forums.

As to GROSS, I think they suffered from a lot of the fallout from the empire hopping that was going on and a few influential members decided to move on and create a new empire. Unfortunate, but it happens.

I think my score bombing is over for a while. The family is back and I got my name on the first page of player scores - #19 as of this writing.

In my last gigantic, I found and ultimately controlled 4 cultural resources maxed out. This did help in flipping planets significantly.

One thing I noticed, that I didn't realize before, is that once you ally with an AI, you can do pretty much anything and they won't care. I planted party palaces in their sectors with systems and they didn't even flinch. Party over.

Easiest way to win on maso: get all five AI's to ally with you. Game if over at that point.

That is until ver 1.12 comes out

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they did to beef up the AI. It seems you can also do whatever you want to them if your military is significantly higher than theirs. Once I get to that state, I start planting party palaces directly in their sectors, and I guess they're too scared to say anything about it.

One thing that annoys me is when they take a planet in one of my sectors (say from a minor), then get all miffed about the cultural starbase you have there--that's already been there for ages--in a sector *I* own. They shouldn't really have the right to whine in that situation. I try to keep that from happening, but every once in a while I don't get to a minor fast enough.

I didn't mean to ditch your team, what happened was that at the time I left no-one except Kryo were submiting games, everything was standing still, I couldn't sign from work and post at the website, I didn't have that problem with other sites, except yours, and the reason I left the Jedi is because someone over there didn't like my comments about Cotal, she zeroed her score without any warning and hasnot even posted one single game since she joined the JR, so that is to clear the atmosphere, from now on I am flying solo, until I find a team that really desires to play and doesnot make excuse about time. We all work and we all have to squeeze the time to play the game. So good luck in your second place, and I am not going back to the Jedi Republic, unless I get an apology for the insults I received.

You know Mayito, you may say you didn't ditch the team, you may say we weren't active, you may think you had every reason to leave.

From my perspective, and in the words of the knight guarding the Holy Grail: "you chose poorly" when you left the MWC.

Throughout all of this, the MWC has remained the most consistent empire in the metaverse, next to FotR. We may not each play two games a day like you would have us, but the fact remains, we have been and will remain in the top tier of empires because of our consistency. We have good and dedicated players just like other empires and just like other empires we go through hot spells and cold spells. Right now, I think we are hot and other aren't.

The important thing is that we all love to play the same game and enjoy chatting in the forums and on #galciv. And the kool thing is, those conversations aren't just limited to the game.

I was actually referring to Kryo ditching us, not you. And, I don't know why you say you and Kyro were the only ones submitting games. I don't think I've ever gone a week where I didn't submit at least one game. And if that were true, we would have plummeted way far down when you both left, wouldn't we?

When I joined the Jedi republic, they were No. 6, if my memory is correct.

I'd also like to point out that some of us might only submit a game a week, but we're still above you (Mayito) in the standings. Sometimes quantity doesn't mean quality. That's not to insult players who can't play on maso--more power to you if you want to play 10 games a day, but some of us don't NEED to submit that many games to keep ourselves with respectable ratintgs. Just because some us submit fewer games does not mean we aren't contributing meaningfully to the empire. I'm sorry, but I DO work 10 hours a day and have no time to play during the week. On the weekend, I have real life stuff to attend to, so can usually only get 1 or 2 games in. I can't play 24/7.

Is it possible to increase the frequency of events? It seems to take forever to get my morals up, because the events are happening about one every other year. Thanx, Pax Vobiscum.

I think that will possibly unbalance the game according to the developers. In my experience, in a gigantic game, I usually have enough events happen that allow me to take some evil bonuses early and then choose good the rest of the way to be pure good by games end. I don't see many colonization events anymore and I don't know if that is a ver 1.11 thing or just bad "luck" on my part.

I just looked at the cheat keys and there doesn't appear to be anything there that would do what you want either.

If you get to colonize some of the planets that are 12, 13 or 14 PQ you will gert quite a few events.

Mayito may be right. I was playing a game yesterday where I went after a PQ 14 and got a 25% PQ bonus for the evil pick. DOn't have enough data, though, to say the frequency is more. I play with the rare star setting, so I think I naturally would have fewer events anyway.
