Hmmm .... I just updated to WB 8.09 and now I am unable to open My Computer or my file manager Directory Opus.  I can open Windows Explorer.

If I set the WB theme to Windows Aero, I can open My Computer and Directory.  I just can't open them with anyother theme.  Very odd.  I downloaded WB 8.09 twice to make sure I didn't have a corrupt d/l.  I installed on top of 8.06.  I also uninstalled 8.06 and did a fresh install and activation.  Same result.

I'll revert back to 8.06 since this was a minor update and I was having no problems.  If others have this issue, I assume there will be a fix and new version will be issued.  Otherwise 8.06 is good enough for me.

I upgraded on Windows 7 and now Skype won't work. Everything you click on just says "Invalid image list.". So I uninstalled Skype, cleaned the registry several times, re-installed and same issue. Sure Hope I can get the older WB (8.06) from someone.

OK, went back to WB 8.06 and Skype 7.0.59.102 works fine now. Hope no one else has the problem.

LightStar - I went back to 8.06 too and have everything working again.  I'm wondering if I should have installed 8.09 as the administrator?  I've not had to do that with any earlier versions.  I think I will sit tight and wait to see if more problems appear before I try that.  8.06 works great ... and you know what they say about if it ain't broke.

Another thought as I finish typing this is the DPI fix mentioned.  I know you and I are both using 2560x1440 resolution.  Wonder if the issues we see might be related to the "high display DPI" change made in 8.09?  Just grasping at straws here.

We are not aware of any changes which should cause issues that some of you are having.

What anti virus are you running as perhaps there is some sort of interaction issue.

I had the same problem when I attempted to upgrade to 8.06: WB kept reporting 8.05 while ODM reported 8.06. I had to uninstall WB, then clean the registry. Installing WB 8.06 then reported correctly.

I have the same problem after upgrading to 8.09: WB reports 8.06 while ODM reports 8.09.

Obviously something is being missed in the registry when upgrading.

Updated 8.06 to .09 and reverted back right after the required reboot as Directory Opus was broken (both clicking on the desktop to get a new lister and right clicking to 'open new lister'.

Too bad. Hopefully figured out and fixed soon?

I mentioned the same issue above.  One thing you may not have noticed is should you try to open DOpus (or My Computer) with Chrome open, the Chrome tite bar disappears for a second then re-appears but without the min/max/close buttons. If you click the Chrome title bar the buttons re-appear.  I think there is something amiss with the way video is being handled, but that is purely a guess on my part.   By the way this only happens when one applies a skin.  If you switch to Windows Aero, none of this occurs.

KUDOS to Neil for still trying to improve the world's greatest skinning software !

-Microsoft sure isn't making it easy for him.

Sorry to hear some people are having issues.  Before updating today, I disabled AVG and Malwarebytes.  Both ODM and WindowBlinds are reporting version 8.09.  Haven't noticed any issues here so far on Windows 8.1.

I've been having issues. 2nd time to install. Buttons in IE all messed up, black over buttons in IE, etc. 8.06 was  working fine for me, this version not well at all.

Guys, I wouldn't expect help until after the holidays. I would advise not installing this update until an official statement has been made by Stardock/WC on the status of this matter.
