Also love the pre-95 UK 200sx (240 in US, 180 in Australiasia).

Wouldn't mind a TVR Cerbera as well. One of the few examples of modern British engineering that doesn't totally blow.

As for imports, a few things,

1. If it wasn't for the imports, the domestic manufacturers would probably still be producing crap cars like they did in the 70's, or at the very least, it would have taken them much longer to get their ducks in a row.

2. I drive sports cars, not SUV's or luxury land yachts. The only two American sports cars of any consequence are the Viper and the Corvette, and both are too expensive for what you get. Any one of the modern imports I listed above will outperform (in overall performing and handling and mileage and maintenance) either of those American sports cars hands down.

3. I'm a big guy (6'4", 250lbs, not fat), and amusingly enough, I can fit better in most imports that I've driven than I can in most of the 'sporty' American cars (I leave the land yachts and SUV's aside for this point).

4. Competition is GOOD. Period. It keeps the bar raised for everyone, and customer has a choice and usually comes out ahead.

or FORD's prototype: GT90 - 720 or so HP. 0-60 in under 3 seconds.
- Has the same tiles NASA uses for under the fuselage of their shuttles for re-entry. [because of heat on take off/re-entry]
- Utilises same shoulder harnesses the shuttle does; take-off speeds of course

or the Ferrari F-50.

Hippy, the Nissan Skyline is one of the coolest cars. Smoooooooth.

The only American cars of interest were/are the Vector and Shelby's input into the AC Cobra [an English car, anyway].

The pre Mach 1 Mustangs were OK in a mildly archaic sense....thanks to Good old Steve and Bullitt...

Vipers are a freeway-mentality car....may as well be for drag-racing as like the Bolwell Nagari in Australia they don't go round corners well.

If I wanted something 'big' I STILL wouldn't go American, I'd just get an old Blower Bentley that Bugatti called the 'fastest truck in the world'....

Yep, a new Z. I listed the 350Z convertible

For one of the current crop of new cars, that'd be right up there on the top of the list (It'd be a close call with the Z4, but the Nissan costs quite a bit less).

I listed cars that I figured I could *possibly* have a chance to acquire (therefore no McLaren F1 or Ferrari F50, etc.), however a *true* wishlish would have those in it for sure .

If I wanted a truck, I'd probably go with a Dodge, a friend of mine has one, very nice!

American manufactured cars (more or less) suit the market in America .... bring them to a country like England and they don't fit the roads!
Run them anywhere but on a highway in Australia and they disintegrate!
Use one in Germany and people fall about laughing!
Run one around Italy and get blown off by a variety of Vespas and Minicars!
Point to consider ... a Harley is nothing more than a throwback and is usually 'ridden' (in Australia) by middle-aged men undergoing the male menopause.
Serious riders run a Ducati or even better, an Aprilia!
Head cases go for Fireblades and the hard cases run big Kwakas!
The oddballs (with big bucks!)go for the Moto Guzzi LM and the occasional Buell ....
Contrary to the image most Aussie revheads try to project, the bulk of the Ford-GM market in this country are either straight 6 Falcons or V6 Commodores ... NOT hairy V8 beasties!
Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi sell in the upper price slot while such nasty devices Proton, Kia, Hyundai and assorted el cheapo Korean rubbish have their niche.
The biggest curse we have to tolerate are so-called 'People Movers' (one female driver, a pair of primary school age brats, mobile phone in one hand, lipstick in the other) ..... and worse, the 'SUV'.... aka 'Simply Useles Vehicle'!

Wet weather 'spare time' project ... Ford GT40 replica ... at least another 3 years worth of work.
Practical 'dream car' ... full bore BMW M3 mit all der Cherman go-faster bits painted radar reflective stealth grey!
Impractical 'dream car' .... 1956 Scaglietti bodied Ferrari 250LWB TdF Berlinetta
And a daily driver I'd like to own for those 'road rage days'..... a Hummer .... in 'Urban Camouflage' paint of course!
Current vehicles I detest ... the Mazda RX8, ANY 'Jaguar' produced under Ford ownership, Chrysler's coyote-ugly 'Retro Mobiles', Ford Europe's Ka and Focus .... and all the jelly moulded blobs by Honda, Toyota etc.
