Change the color!!! No one wants to stare at florescent green text in a light blue background no less. Looking at a short green Jedi master is painful enough.

I apologize for my recent absences from the threads and submissions, but the "real" world intervened.

Most of my web experience has been with FrontPage and Dream Weaver as creation tools. If we could link up in the chat room at some point, we could work out a design for pages and a method of transmission (FTP, direct upload to the site, etc.)

I could zip HTML pages complete with graphics and get them to you in any convenient manner. Or, if you are comfortable with the current format, I could work out some graphics and just get you those.

This is unquestionably your empire. You've done the work on setting it up, networking to build membership, and taking a leading role in the "behind-the-scenes" cooperation on the Metaverse. With that said, final decisions on web content should be your call, but thanks for your openness to allow a relative newcomer the chance to contribute to the JR site. By Metaverse standards, the JR is a small empire, but we are building a teamwork mentality that bodes ill for those above us in the rankings.

On a related note, I see that MadMaz, creator of the Star Wars mod, is still an unaligned independent. I humbly suggest that our lil' Republic would be a fine place for him to call home. An invitation from you as the leader of our group - and someone who uses his mod regularly - might just convince him to join with us...

Obi Wan, limited my abilities in web design are. However, this I can tell you, for all the sites I use Yahoo!'s Geocities, and that a direct upload and HTML code would suffice in terms of transmission. You can visit geocities.com yourself to investigate further. A master site we could have if we were to colaborate as a team!!

Hmm, see this before I did not, quickly reading the posts I was trying to catch up. Consider this I will, it will take some work but worth it it may be. I am running low on energy for the site (Sleep.. You know SLEEP???? ) but I will try and implement this.

Evil not I, Qui-Jon watch would I and that Kenobi guy too. I've heard reports of him telling the truth to a "degree or perspective" Also Kenobi likes to engage in barroom brawls and cut folks arms off with his lightsaber and leave us in DIS to clean up the mess.

My fellow Jedi, I see that sometime in the wee hours of the morning, we were overtaken by the mutants from Down Under in the empire standings.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh, my. Will we allow the Republic to fade? Imperial Security's suggestion to temporarily suspend the Republic's laws against cruelty to animals, at least until the immediate crisis is over, is under consideration by the Council.

I thought I'd say hello, and thank you for setting up a cool empire. So what are the long-term plans of this growing empire besides the obvious: gaining power and control over of the entire galaxy

Wow. Philosophy. It's been a long day, so sorry if this rambles a bit. To quote a phrase, "It all depends greatly on your own point of view."

We're working on the whole control of the galaxy thing. Jedi have always taken the long view.

Like all empires, we're trying to provide a forum for people to enjoy the game on a level beyond "something to fiddle with on the PC tonight." That's posting amusing bits, strategies or stories here in the threads; doing the same in the Stardock chat room; posting games to the Metaverse to uphold the honor of the Republic, etc.

Then there's the whole Star Wars phenomenon. It DOMINATED a generation or two, including mine. It's nice to not only pay it an homage here, but also to have a little fun role-playing.

Long term (besides that whole master plan thing), we also want to take more of a leading role in areas outside of the Metaverse and the forums. Meaning, the Web. Yoda has a good basic site up and going that will serve as a foundation. It would be nice to build this into a Star Wars-themed clearinghouse for game modifications, etc. similar to what CDG have already done in a general way. The more participation, the merrier. If any Jedi are interested, it might also be possible to tie in the multitudes of other SW-themed games out there - SW Galaxies, Knights of the Old Republic, etc. With, of course, GalCiv as the crown jewel.

So, the real question is - what do YOU want the Republic to be? Yoda founded this thing, but he's made it clear that everybody has a vote - it's a Republic, not a dictatorship. Welcome aboard!
