Is this thing on? Is there a problem with the universal translator?

I have been too long away from this thread. In my absence I've been working on my first masocistic game. It was going well, but then the bottom dropped out. I don't know if I can hold out. Hopefully, if I pull it out, we will get some good points out of this one.

Yoda is taking a fast vacation from GalCiv to try out Knights of the Old Republic and should be back shortly. At least that's the official version. He may well be learning new Force healing techniques or chasing barmaids while drunk - only Gerakken knows for sure.

At 30 hours I'm checking in... been playing that game nonstop for the past few days and I still havn't found that damn Star Forge.... Think I'm close though . Anyway, let me be the first to tell you all that KotOR is the Best SW game EVER. I cannon over state this, and my praise dosn't come easily... Especially for a SW game. I should be on more frequently some time soon, I am 30 Hrs. into KOTOR now and it is estimated to be a 40 hr game. Check in again later.

PS. I am of course, a Light Jedi. Didn't want you getting any ideas to the contrary... Though that Lightning is quite a trick... yes...

PPS. BTW, the KOTOR Storyline has given me MUCH more to write about for WotW.. Expect some good stories asap after I finish the game!

Hang tight - you seem to have a critical mass of people who want to support the theme. Our problem is that now, I'm not sure that we can do it with so few, especially if there's dissention in the few that are there. Good luck, and may the Force be with you....

The problem with having so few members (even great players) is that the more games you submit within a 30 day time frame the less points they are worth on the metaverse. That is, 10 people submitting 1 game each is worth way more than 2 people submitting 5 games each.

Really... I didn't know that... that sucks... i recon that any games by anyone (even 1 person) should be ranked according to its own merits

I forgot to turn off the alliance victory on my game last night (first time I have been able to play in forever), and I won in alliance pretty fast with only 4000+ points. The good news is that it worked this time. I guess my 10000+ game is lost forever. (:(

I had that happen to me the last game I submitted. I got 5k for the alliance victory, but you are allowed to resubmit a game one additional time. I decided to go for the conquest, so I loaded up the EndGameSave and broke one of my alliances and then won it for 10k. Even after breaking an alliance the race is still friendly with you, so I leave Alliance on just in case I can't beat everyone. I had a game where the Torians and Altarians had killed everyone but me. I gave them a whole bunch of stuff until they liked me, so I'd get the win

Quick question about victories. If you disable all victories except Military, what happens if you flip all the majors to you (do you get a military victory?) or will it flip all but one and you have to destroy it?

They will all flip and you will win by military victory without firing a shot!

I guess this is an acceptable bug/feature? Seems like you are tricking the system or even worse.....cheating!

You get a military win once all the majors are gone, it doesn't matter how. If you leave Cultural victory on, then you will probably get a culture win before a military win. Too bad its not smart enough to figure out you won by culture and not military

I cant bring the game up at work (unfort!), but does anyone know if you can edit the game while playing and disable the alliance/cultural/ect victory conditions?

One more thing...On my game that would not submit, something strange happened with the economics of the Torians. We were the only two majors left and the Torians were a heck of a lot stronger than me (They had absorbed pretty everyone else), so I decided to send two of my terror stars fully loaded with culture additions and start flipping his planets to try to bankrupt him since he had tons and tons of big ships. It worked pretty good and i flipped almost all his planets to me. When I checked his stats through my spies, he had the number 1 economy, -45000 in the bank, and making -3200 a turn compared to my 10000 in the bank and making a couple hundred a turn.

Am I crazy in thinking this is not normal? Has anyone seen this before?
