If this is your question (if its not, please quote it, I might have overlooked it in my scans) then the answer is that the canidates are volentary nominees who decide they wish to run for the JR Senate. On November 8th the polls are open and I will have posted a complete list of the runners and a sample ballot. So, yes we are voting for the Jedi Council Members to take the empty seats as per the Constitution. http://jedi.galciv.org/legends/constitution.htm

Thanks for answering my querries folks . . . I'm really just happy to remain a humble soilder of the Jedi cause. I am greatful for your support but there's no telling how long I'll remain inactive scorewise in the metaverse. I don't really plan on defending my ranking until some others catch-up . . . then I might get moving again.

Actually, it's been good having a break from GC for a while, I think it's made me appreciate how great a game it really is . . . I still haven't got that darn Amulet of Yendor yet, not for lack of trying . . .

Theoden great update on the goings on all abouts . . . I'm sad to see the ANZAC Republicans crumble, it is the end of an era.

Although I did apologize to Blue for being so bitchy in response to one of his posts, I haven't seen any word of acknowledgment about the intent . . . I'll just move on too I guess . . .

Regarding the Jedi ranks, adding more of them would appear to be not so easy a task (there quite attractive as they are) . . . who designed the original motif/skins? My other half could give it a burl if its a question of time/resources . . . he's a designer?

I don't have the time to dedicate to the game to be on the council so anyone who wants to be on the council is OK by me.

as for the weasel issue... I actaully kinda agree with alot of what he said and have no problem with him hanging his hat here for as long as he wants. this is after all a game. who cares what rank you are.. or your empire rank is.. the metaverse is an enhancement to make the community more ejoyable. scores and ranks are not why I play the game. if someone has a hissy fit cause his empire isn't ranked as high as he would like then that's not Weasels or Amidala's fault is it?


I think for one we are underestimating our appeal for other players... the website is the best in the Metaverse.. we have more strucure than basicly every other empire.. I'm not surprized that all these people want to join.

as for a revamp of the ranks... no problem there... even if I get a demotion.

I need to say now that I will be gone on Saturday and most likely Sunday again this week. I have been absent due to marchimg band competitions, and this week is the last one. Hopefully we will do well.

Amidala, I swiped most of the original rank badges from Yoda's old JR home page. You'd need to check it with him, but I suspect that a lot of the bits were in turn borrowed from one of the many, many Jedi games on the market. I adapted the Sith equivalents on the fly, as needed, whenever there was a need for them. In the old days, there were fewer Sith and promotions didn't come as quickly using 1.05 scoring. Actually, the badges were something that I was always planning on re-working if I had the time.

Kryo, as I mentioned in my initial email, the files that I sent over are the best "first effort" that I could come up with. I'm working on digging out the last few, but Real Life is putting some pretty strenuous demands on my time lately. If you don't feel like waiting, you can grab the originals at http://www.theforce.net/multimedia They're all sorted by movie and character; it shouldn't be difficult to find the ones you need and re-size them to suit.
