We will be doing a bunch of stuff in the coming days/weeks for the top GalCiv players and empires from 2003. We didn't want to say anything before the year was up so that there wouldn't be any last second mass gaming to change positions too much..

Here are the top 10 empires from 2003:

exactly, we would be an empire that doesnt make freinds, and if we do make a freind, we backstab them. "The Fellowship of the Ring" could be called T.F.O.T.R. or something similar, and they would be a good civ. G.R.O.S.S. could be a civ that likes to attack trade routes. the Special Forces could be a civ that owns few, but very powerfull ships.

i havent thought of what the personalities of the other empires would be, but im sure something will come up by the time galciv2 is in development.

How about some Stardock merchandise that people could buy?

I'm sure there are plenty of players out there who would happily BUY a galciv T-Shirt or even an Empire based T-Shirt. I'm not aware of any empires having merchandise, but it's only a metter or time ;)

Great idea those T-shirts, as for the European Alliance as a minor civ, it would either have to quite large (but then it isn't minor) or very densely populated (high moral or so).

Maybe an option to rename the other major races in the game could give us all the feeling we were duking it out in the Metaverse. But then again that's already possible, I really should play more ...

Yes I did at work, I have Betazoids and Borgs and I want to rename the other minors too. Sounds cool when the Borgs are begging for mercy because the Altarians are destroying them, now if I can figure out how to change the images to have some nice looking burg looking at me at the diplomacy screen, hmmmmm?

Really getting off topic here LOL... But of course no one can compare to the mass merchandising juggernaut that is the Jedi ;) Movies, books, toys, action figures, lunchboxes, LEGOs, you name it, the Jedi have them LOL

Seriously though, I was wondering if there will be t-shirts for the top players, just how far down the list will they be given? Top 3? Top 10? Top 25? Finding this out now really makes me wish I'd put some time into maintaining position around #5-6, instead of letting myself drop to #15 ;)
