I was hoping to get a few games posted but it turned out I was the only Technician playing that did not know the 1.49 did not save games.

Don't oversell techs! That's one lesson I learned. Zeroes stink. We don' want no steeking zeroes. If you're playing Crip, damoose, time for you to move up to Maso, 'cause you are stomping Crip too badly now. Or else wean yourself off the massive tech sales.

Say, good job Canucks on borrowing sixth place back for a bit, but, um, we need it again for now. Sorry. If you have the need again soon, just let us know.

Beef's fine. I had some on Friday. Um... current evidence suggests the one sick cow came from Canada originally, and was left over from before they (and we) cracked down on our feed contents. We're tightening up even more, but there's no epidemic in the works. I'd worry more about what's in your ale down under than what's going on with North American beef. But by all means, laugh it up. Say, shouldn't the ANZACs climb to seventh place before they start talkin trash about sixth? LOL

Yeah... I have a missive in with our Goddess of Software. I'm pretty sure I tripped the money trap. But I'll wait until hear back from the Holy One. She's pretty busy so I'll be suprised if I hear from Her this week.

As for tech sales... I guess I was too greedy with the minors.

I'm playing a pianful with no tech sales, just tech trades right at the moment. Only 5 trade routes too. We'll see how it goes. I'd just like to get a score in to the 'verse. The Emperor is looking at me a little cross eyed and you knoe where that will lead.

Well I put in 4 small masochistic wins this weekend. It wasn't enough to pass them, but it was enough to keep us very close.

Funny thing is, one of my masochistic wins was scored as "tiny". Not sure how that happened since I never changed any settings between the 4 games (other than changing some of my abilities on the 4th game).

Did the game get easier in some of the patches. After not playing regularly for about a month, I came back and found masochistic easier then ever before. I was able to beat it 4 times without building any military ships until the end game.

Oh, and I'd like to point out how stupid it is to give different points for the different win conditions. I know it makes sense in some cases, but it's so easy to manipulate. Usually late in the game, you have several choices of how to win. In most of my games I can choose which win I want between several if not all of the types. I usually quickly build up a military to destroy the last race to get the "military" victory, but that's a joke since 95% of my enemies are actually destroyed by culture first. I notice about a 15-20% difference in points between a cultural win and a military win, so by just eliminating that last sector with a military I can add significant points to my score.

RB top player JaxomCA does the same thing. He goes for the military win because it scores more. I'm too stubborn for that, myself, though. Heck on points. I just want to play, and more so the fun parts. Phooey on make-work. If I'm working, I ought to be getting paid! I always play with all victory conditions active, so I don't get a military victory unless I use terror stars or play smaller maps or the odd rare map. Most of my wins are alliance. If there's a way to end the misery of late game mop up a little faster, and get on to the next game, I'll take it.

There'll be a couple of losses on my profile eventually, too. Almost had one recently.

That may not make sense to most folks, but us RB types march to our own drummer. Insanity is what makes us somewhat dangerous. You never know what we'll be doing next.

While I may not always play a military type game, I always finish all AI to get a military victory. It is my own way of protesting the scoring system.

That's what I do to, if they're going to give you an extra 20% on the score, why not. I have never played a military game (Hey, I'm Canadian eh!) yet most of my recent (since this change) victories are military...

All this rule really did, is hide how people are really playing the game.

I think I've temporarily taken care of that Sirian . I may even fire a few more volleys before the night is over. You see, I just finished my summer job, got a set of braces and basically have nothing better to do .

Yeah well... All the pillaging takes a toll don't you know. They spend at least half the time fighting each other over the booty. And that's all good for the rest of us.

So I get a message back from our Holy Lady. Looks like I tripped the PQ flag. Now funny thing about this is if I load the endsave game and look at the PQ ability is says 16%. I have a prayer in with the Goddess hoping she can explain this apparent discrepancy to a lowly worm such as I.

I'll let you know what I hear back. One must of course listen very careful to hear the Devine Words of Our Holy Lady of Software.
