We are working on an abstract map view mode (full map zoom out).
Frogboy
Generally speaking, I strongly discourage people from joining founder's programs. Even if your hardware is good, there's a decent chance it could be weeks before it works well. Ashes right now is at alpha level so it's most definitely not fun to play. We do have the Star Swarm stress test you can try out here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/267130/
the founder's forum. One level down from this one. :)
I may ahve misspoiek. Global abilities won't cost more each time you use them. Rather, the tech tree is going to be stackable. So you can research say better armor over and over but each time it costs more.
I'm not sure that would help anyway. We're looking into it.
Tier 4?
Are you purposely not reading what is being posted? its client/server. not p2p. Demigod, incidentslly, used the same setup as SupCom.
At the moment there is a problem with Nvidia cards and anti-aliasing using DirectX 12 (MSAA and Temporal AA). With activated anti-aliasing DX12 is slower as DX11. Not sure if the Nvidia driver or the engine is responsible for this bug...
not a bug. Nvidia's dx11 drivers optimize this perf. Their dx12 ones do not yet.
I play RTS games with 2 other buddies. We usually always play 3(us)vs.3(AI) If this isnt going to be possible sounds like a real step backwards in gameplay. Actually being able to play with my friends will always trump " having tens of thousands of units on screen "
We expect to support up to 6 humans playing. But we are only committing to 4 humans right now. The question
thx for posting this. If memory serves, that laptop has both an Intel GPU in there too. Make sure, using the nvidia tool, that you force the ashes exe to use the nvidia card.
Could you pst your dxdiag info? lol take a look at it and also ask the team as well.
Ah good point. The verion number is 0.49. As for extra keys: The plan is October for the additional keys now so that we can ramp up the multiplayer prior to the public beta and give founders and their friend some time to get up to speed on MP.
Greetings! Welcome to all the new founders! Thank you for joining us! Today's discussion has to do with resources. The current plan is for the game to have these resources: Metal. For constructing units and buildings. Provided by metal extractors. Radioactives. For constructing more advanced units and buildings. Provided by radioactive extractors. Tech. For acquiring new tech. Acquired by the player building Research Matrci
I agree with that.
It'll be obvious. :) DirectX 12 version exists.
We will be supporting Vulkan. Like I said, we don't have drivers.
DX12 or DX11 version?
We're looking into it. You've provided outstanding info though. Thank you!
@jet. The argument at hand, as far as I can tell, is that tat thinks that we are better off sacrificing unit count to have 8 players. I disagree. Am I misunderstanding something?
Any chance of shield units? Or at least shields in any form? One thing I loved about SupCom was using shields.
Substrate side has shield stuff. :)
What about a Flying unit that when you see Enemies it will Hover on top of them and shoot heavy lasers and damage increases as it focuses on a single target. you may Call it (DESTRO) recommended against slow units, T2, T3. @tat The basic issue I'm having with yours claims is that you seem to have rose colored glasses. For instance, the Ashes video I posted wasn't some polished, carefully crafted view of the game. It was someone streaming, live, the benchmark. Again: Show me a YouTube video with 18,000 units in Supcom. This is a recent video of Supreme Commander: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKckc5sjA8
To me, a speed setting is completely irrelevant as most of my time playing these games are spent in the ladder, and having a speed option for the ladder, is well, kinda stupid and pointless for many different reasons. My gripe is just the speed that units move, not how long battles take, or how long said units take to build either, so the simulation speed controls also don
