I know you have to cater to all types so that anyone can play, but what made sup com so interesting is they set out to make a game that ran best in the fastest machines, rather than pandering to those still rocking old kit. I honestly would just buy a new rig than the game dumb itself down for me.
In Ashes case, we definitely require a pretty beefy machine. 64bit, 4GB, at least 4 CPU cores to play. But you don't have to have a D
Is it going to be like the GC3 one and left to rot.
The GalCiv III one isn't "rotting". It's just that the amount of stuff to preview declines dramatically after early access starts.
1. Will player in AotS be able to build units they researched in any quantity (except, probably, technical per-player unit limit), as in any other TA-based game? 2. Will long-range weapons, like artillery that reaches other side of the map, or ballistic missiles, be present in AotS? 3. Will AotS defensive structures in appropriate numbers be potentially able to block any type of attack, including long-range weapons
Got another question here about the game terrain As i can see in the pictures and videos, the terrain have holes in the ground to mountains, lets say you have 10 levels of terrain in the game, gong from -5 being the lowest lvl in the terrain ( example: a big hole on the floor ) 0 being the normal lvl ( where you see a flat terrain ) and +5 being the highest ( lets say a Mountain peak ). I do understard that terrain have a
Another question here about AOTS Are we getting epic size units, like in supreme Commander 1 & 2?
The largest units currently are around 600 meters long. In some future iteration we will (if it makes sense for gameplay) look at having even bigger. Mind you, 600m is about the size of the Enterprise-E.

Are we talking about Ashes or GalCiv? As for Ashes, the idea is that the player's armies are extensions of him (or her). If you'd like to read more about Post-Humans, I recommend: <a id="titlehref" title="Post-Human Series Books 1-4" href="https://www.amazon.com/Post-Human-Series-Books-David-Simpson-ebook/dp/B00H0D5NTI/ref=as_sl_pc_ss_til?tag=joeusercom-20&linkCode=w01&linkId=BT6GAOKNYBHPJ2QS&creativeASI
What's the difference between the AI and Post-Humans? Aren't they essentially different flavors of AI?
The Post-Humans are humans who have evolved beyond their biology. The Substrate were created by humans as an artificial intelligence.
here is a question for you. I see in the pictures and in the demo media the the units look like hover units. will the units be able to cross said lakes, rivers, hills, mountain or will they have to go around?
They hover but they still need solid ground. So they can't go over lakes or mountains. The aircraft do that though. ;)
So as i understand, to run game with good performance, you need directx 12. So do we need to wait till it gets released so we can start playing AOTS alpha/beta?
As long as you have a DirectX 11 capable card, it should run fine. Heck, I am hopeful it'll run on a Surface Pro 3. It's about scaling things up. On DirectX 12, we can do things like have more light sources and true motion effects. <p

That really begs the question of what is a Star Control game. To me, Star Control means going out and exploring the galaxy, meeting aliens, upgrading your ship, gathering ships to fight in battles, exploring planets. As much as I love the Ur-Quan, their presence or absence doesn't determine whether it's a Star Control game (at least for me). The Ur-Quan exist, as a separate universe within the Star Control canon. The new game will be canon for Star Contro
it's fine with me. Although I don't think releasing them close together would canabalize sales. Each is a different game with a different audience.
Not so much about cannibalizing sales, though there is an issue there too. Age of Wonders 3's expansion is scheduled to come out in mid April as well.
Is the game simulation similar to how sup com is (basically can shots be blocked, dodged, groundfire, etc.) Will meta units use their advantages of individual units as in if I had a long range unit will it stay near the back of the group or if I have a tanky unit will it stay near the front, etc.
Yes. Each shot is an actual object. So shots do miss. The Meta units are designed to work together. They're way more than

With DirectX 12, Mantle, and Vulkan the engine is able to expand largely indefinitely. Want to run at 5K resolution some day? No problem, just drop a second GPU in the box.
I am going to start a New post with a few questions for Oxide about AOTS. So i ask everyone to just ask questions about the game and wait for Oxide to answer them. Well lets hope [e digicons]:P[/e] [e digicons]:|[/e] 1- Q: Will it be Volcanoes in the game? 2- Q: Will it be water ( oceans, lakes, rivers ) in the game? 3- Q: Will you have Naval / amphibious Unit
on tech trees: Will teching require something like a building of a specific type to be made? An issue I see with tech trees is that you cannot scout into which direction your opponent techs until it is "too late" because your opponent has the stuff on the field. So that could be fixed by requiring you to make some tech buildings, depending on what direction you want to tech.
Tech require
