Here is an editorial written by Don Bendall. I found it interesting. I figured I would share it with all of you. Enjoy. It's kind of long, but, since most of you love to argue, oops! I mean debate :) I posted it anyway. I have written two widely-distributed editorials concerning the actions of democratic Presidential candidate John Forbes Kerry that h

I am having an "Overwhelmed with feelings" day. A flood of emotion. The good variety and the bad variety. I wanted to write about something interesting and something I could share with everyone. But, I am not a writer, journalist, or very articulate. However, I do give it my best shot! :) I have a plethera of ideas that run through my head, but most have be

I am guilty of the same "bad " habit....letting my son sleep with me a few times. I agree, it is so hard to turn them away, when they look sooooo sad! and pitiful! some of my favorite moments were when he'd crawl up on the bed, with the sniffles, and snuggle down. It was cute, and it does make you feel loved. And that doesn't last for very long! They get older and less dependent on us! They stop wanting to just sit and snuggle w

That's just absolutely horrible! I can't believe the government would treat her so horribly! I don't know what to say.....I am still shaking my head. Have you tried your congressman/woman? Compared to your story, mine just seems petty. Although, I had a feeling that I wasn't alone....meaning, there were more stories with the same bottom line. The military/government wants us to serve and die for our country, but will not protec

My son would, literally, walk in to his room, turn around, walk back out, and say " I had a bad dream." Ugh! I would tell him he wasn't in there long enough to lay down on his bed.....he would then proceed to argue (try to argue) that yes he had indeed fell asleep! I would have to physically pick him up and put him in the bed. We would lay there for a little while, quiet, but then he would try it again! Right there in his bed! We wou

I totally hear you. I feel the same way, most of the time. It's a standard put forth by the fashion industry. (That's what I think.) Models have become the "look" for all to achieve. No matter how unhealthy it looks. (some look very unhealthy) And your right, you shouldn't worry about what others think. That's the real challenge. I struggle with it everyday! :) Anyway, good luck with fitting into your Ralph Lauren swimsuit!

There's a LOT that the main stream news refuses to tell us. Why is this? Like Libya's surrender to the U.S. of a FULL ship load of armaments and weapons that could be used for nuclear weapons, along with the materials from their dismantled nuclear program. That barely got a nod. We don't hear from the happy Iraqis, the ones who welcome the liberation f

LOL Literally! I'm at work and they heard me laughing. They came to check it out, read it and enjoyed it too! Oh, and all were women! We feel your pain!

My experience> There is nolove except for one another. If your with a different church, they try to bring you to theirs, if you practice a different religion, they try to convert you...just like most other religions. Most religions or factions I have encountered believe theirs is the right one and the only one. Don't we live in America, the right to religious freedom? Only if your Christian, Catholic, or Mormon just to name a few, I have known to

It doesn't seem like there is a definite answer of yes or no. Which is pretty common when it comes to politicians. russellmz2, I don't think that the timeline of events has any real rellevence here. In fact, (in my opinion of course) I find it more damaging to him. Why not push for normalization? If my cousin had brokerage dealings with the very same country... The deal was made in 1993, the trade embargo was lifted in 1994. Yes,

I recieved an email yesterday, about John Kerry. I am so disgusted by him now. I usually vote Democratic or Liberal, but I might have to rethink that this upcoming election. I have copied the email, it's kinda long. It makes a great point, though. This is written by a vietnam hero who is also a writer. Just some thoughts to ponder - Letter to John Kerry: My wife had rotator cuff surgery earlier this year, and the recovery is terribly painful Then, she

Thank you for your clarity. Reading back on it now, I may have been a little bit more bothered than I thought. It wasn't your comment, it was me thinking about the government not paying its enlisted military members enough money to support their families. So, forgive me...I started thinking a little off the subject.... :) I'm really sorry about you losing the swing set. (just lightening the mood a little) :) And thank you for serving.

I get you, agloesque. I have a few customers that are the "silent" type. I don't mind, I myself have been in that kind of mood. Especially if I am in a sour mood, I hate to spread those moods around. I usually keep silent to avoid being contagious! I just know a few of those that treat me horribly, no matter how well I treat them. You just can't please some people. Don't get me wrong, I don't think your one of those people! I'm speaking gener

I feel like I am on a never ending emotional rollercoaster these days. Welcome to the Crazy Train. Please buckle up and make sure to keep your hands in the upright position at all times! I am not in control, and that is wrong! I'm happy then sad, lonely, angry, I just can't keep up anymore. I'm lonely, I miss my hubby. I see him only for 30 minutes a day, until the weekends and then I

I agree with you 100%. I have smoked occasionally for years.....until hubby went in to the military. I have to be a little more careful now! There is a bigger picture, what about saving trees? Or money for our farmers. It's easy to grow.....weed. It makes great paper products, clothing, rope, even shampoos and conditioners! It has a plethera of uses or government could put to OUR advantage. A couple of comments were made about le

I learned a lot of lessons through out this ordeal. But I do not regret standing behind my hubby and his decision to join the Navy. I guess I'm a little confused about what you mean, Voix. I can say this, I am beginning to see why some enlisted start hating being in the military. It's a fact, unless you're an officer our a high rank enlisted, they will hardly ever stand behind you. Even if it's the right thing to do.

quote > I have read that some military dependent families at Ft Bragg are receiving aid of some type or another, perhaps worth a look ? Dynosoar, This kind of bothers me a little. At least someone in the family is doing something good. Helping defend our country. Military families do not get paid that well. It especially difficult looking for work as a dependent. A lot of companies worry about hiring you because they don't know

You are a great story teller, I was sitting at the end of my seat through the whole thing! I would have been just as paranoid as Sam! With hubby in military, I can't enjoy too many weekends like that anymore. It's a bummer.

Capt. Cornbread, I have to admit Olive Garden is one of the few who always seems to have great waitstaff. They are always friendly! Angloesque, I have to admit something else, I am one of the people you talk about.....I usually try to make small talk while waiting with a customer. Usually just saying anything to get a smile from my customers....Nothing in the way of heavy conversation though. I just can't stand that silence... yo

Have you ever just felt totally left out? Life is happening ever where around you....your not invited into the exclusive club? Man, I feel like that today. I watch my co-workers running around busy with work or visiting each other in their offices. Only stopping by long enough for a question, they only hear part of the answer for. Returning later to re-ask me the same question again, because they couldn't stand there long enough for t
