ok, found the solution here so happy now https://forums.stardock.com/368958/#2526075
WOW DUDESKI YOU JUST MADE MY DAY! this has been annoying me for so long now, i've posted about this in the past several times and all i heard from stardock was it's because it doesn't support x64, which is true it says 32bit only. either way thanks alot. this really should be a sticky
i have posted about this a while ago, all i got was x64 isn't supported. i wish they would support it, it's quite annoying to see all those blank icon shortcuts. if i go in a give each icon it's own icon file, then it works.
i also notice it doesn't pause on battery now, it asks me if it wants enable deskscapes on battery mode, i say no and it keeps on going LOL. i think the pause function is broken entirely now? also, neil, could you please answer my other question? thanks
Neil, so why the change then from old versions where it would pause on multiple monitors?
hmmm, weird, i've always had dual monitor setups, and i remember it use to pause on them as well. when i would have a window maximized on one monitor, the dream would freeze on the other and i always said to myself, that dream looks like crap paused. it did work in the past, it doesn't now
i don't know, but thats how it use to work, i believe in version 1 and 2, not to mention the big negative impact this would have on gaming. having to disable deskscapes before i game manually
i'm pretty sure in older versions it would pause if you maximized a window on your desktop. i'm running windows 7 and wonder why this is no longer the case? i can see it running through the taskbar, which in turn can slow things down a bit. how do you fix this? thanks.
i'll give that a shot, but the problem is that the default windows cursor is blanked out, so when cursorFX fails, there is no cursor at all. maybe this will work, i'll post after it fails and i try it. thanks
so just wondering, is there maybe something that can be done with keyboard launchpad that would reset the default windows cursors?
i know it works in win7, as most vista themes i try do work. ah well, i'll keep my mouth shut since it looks good anyways LOL
i like this skin, but since WB7 and Windows 7 are out shouldn't subscriber skins also have a win7 counterpart?
yes, windows 7 x64 on my laptop as well, it could totally be that i didn't even think of that. even my other desktop is x64 so i guess i shouldn't bother testing. it's just odd how it seems to be random icons though
it is an odd problem, i was able to reproduce it, and i can try on my other desktop but i don't use object desktop on any machine but my main desktop. but i may install it just to test again, it's just alot of setup. here is the system info Time of this report: 11/10/2009, 06:52:33 Machine name: MICHAELDESKTOP Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_
system info from dxdiag?
a few weeks ago i posted in the object dock forums about an icon issue i was having. well, i have figured out that the fences install has caused this issue. i had reformatted my pc since then, and then fences pro came out, i installed it, and my problem came back. icons in flyout menu's that use default images are all blank, any icon that i set manually from a custom icon image work fine. as soon as i saw this, i went to my laptop and installed object dock+, then fence
i found the culprit, it's fences. and i did a test on another machine, bam same thing
i'm running it on Windows 7 x64 with no issues
well, i was tempting a reformat and thats what i did, i did flush the cache though. i always forget to mention what version and whatnot, i guess i'll follow up next time it happens lol, but thanks for the help
so could this be a rendering problem? maybe direct X? do these docks use directX for flyouts? is this thing on?
hmmm, tried xdock, same thing. so now i'm at a total loss, is it possible it's maybe video driver related?
on a side not, i installed rocketdock with stack docklet, which i use with objectdock plus where i first noticed, and then tried flyouts with same problem. rocketdock is also not showing the icons, so i don't think it is something with objectdock, but maybe iconpacker/icon studio?
