Man, that was huge . This is the first TV series disc I've gotten from NetFlix and it was quite the choice, too. I've watched all four episodes on the disc and it has left me wanting more. Not only do you have the whole draw that reality TV seems to have for so many of us, but the actual content really speaks to me. Now, I don't get to go around slugging it out with other guys,

You haven't heard that phrase before? He doesn't seem to have it exactly right, but he's close. Kind of throwing ideas out there as ineffective verbal attacks (which is kinda what he did, I guess, he just didn't really want to hurt your feelings or anything). Okay, a deeper search shows his usage to be 100% correct. Link Gosh, for a "cool" Mom, sometim

Once you push aside all the things with thorns, and the things with teeth and claws, there's nothing much but dirt, and a few bunny rabbits. If you've gotten rid of the things with teeth and claws and you still have rabbits left, they must be imports. All the rabbits there had big... sharp... pointy fa

Well, the sad bit is that they probably meant "inTRAcourse communication," that is, communications internal to your courses. You could just use the blackboard site to get the information out to the students instead of emailing all of them... anyway. Every time I log in to check my email, I rate them poorly and complain about the spam and lack of email filters on the survey that automatically pops up when I exit the site.

Last week, at the reccomendation of the on-base fitness guru (a retired Army 1SG), I purchased a Polar F5 Heart Rate Monitor. They've gone a model or two ahead of this one, but it fit all my needs and more and it was on sale (previously $99, they had it at $69, about $75 after tax). This morning was the first time I wore it for a workout. (I tried it on las

Please take time for yourself. Going to see the counsellor is a great idea. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you. I love you. I'll make sure your family is in my prayers.

a box of assorted junk from my attic I might do that with some other stuff. I had considered doing a box of "assorted toys from fast food restaurants." Most of those I don't have any more, though.

Well, the two that I put up are 'Weird Al' Yankovic cassettes - Dare To Be Stupid and Even Worse. There must be someone who wants them, because Even Worse has a bid ($.01) and there is one person watching Dare To Be Stupid. I tried to dress up the description as best I could... I did mention that a song of Dare To Be Stupid (the title track) was mentioned in the Transformers movie, so maybe that helped? <img src="../images/smiles/jok

Hey, you're talking to me! Yeah, the chocolate stuff is pretty bad. If it could somehow dissolve more completely in milk it'd be fine. I also picked up a container of vanilla whey protein, so that's an option, too. I guess I'll try strawberries next time (maybe with the vanilla), but they didn't have Driscoll strawberries (my favorite brand) at the commissary. They also didn't have vanilla frozen yogurt, just strawberry or strawber

seems to be used more out of frustration than as a way to effect behavior. And that's why I've stopped, for the most part. I saw myself doing it for those reasons. Mostly, I tell my kids if they're good then they'll get Reward X. I have really good kids, though, so I don't have to worry too m

As for reason NOT to invade North Korea, I think a stronger argument might be the troop strength available to the United States military. Don't misread me, here; we are fully capable of defending ourselves, our country and our country's interests on a global scale. Remember that any war or even military action causes a strain on the rest of the United States as well, and there is already a pressure there. Contrast this with our continued pre

CNN Headline News just did a pretty good piece about how a lot of Middle Eastern news networks can be slanted away from the Israeli side of any situation. This kind of preempts any article that I might have written about them using Al-Jazeera images and headlines without adding anything to them, giving the impression that their only source on those aspects of the sto

1 cup non-fat milk, 1/2 cup blackberries, 1/2 cup strawberry non-fat yogurt... one scoop chocolate flavored whey protein. Blend. Blagh. On the bright side, my balance was a little better today. I think I need to get some snacking vegetables or some cans of V8 for an afternoon snack, because I only got one serving of vegetables again today (2 yester

I'm snacking, basic equivalent of 6 small meals a day. But take this lunch, for example: 2 cups spinach mix salad, 1 can tuna, 1 Tbsp olive oil vinagrette: 187 calories, 40 fat calories, 4.5g fat, 27g protein, 2g net carbs, 4g fiber (yes, those are all things I'm tracking). I mean, adding the tuna did a lot for that lunch, but even six meals at that calorie count doesn't get me anywhere near the 2200 calories/day that I "should

I've been keeping track of my diet for two days now, although I've been trying to be extra good since I got back on Friday. The Air Force diet tech gave me an outline of what I "should" eat: I'm heavy enough right now to have 2200 calories per day and still lose about 2lb/week (especially with my increased PT which kicks off this week). A big mistake I've al

I think the only horror genre book I own is The Best of H.P. Lovecraft: Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror And The Macabre . A compilation of short stories, the book is a great read. Lovecraft is responsible for coming up with the great beast Cthulhu and spawning the whole Necronomicon bit (as seen in the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series). I can highly recommend the compilation.

First off, I wish safety for your son. Secondly, this isn't even as nice as AKO. I have an AKO account as well and thankfully haven't had any spam going to that (except official Army spam; somehow I got on a couple of mailing lists I shouldn't have been on). This is a separate account dealing only with my online education stuff...

I will be starting another online class through the GoArmyEd program (formerly eArmyU) in just over a week: Introduction to the Internet. Basic HTML, things like that... the ex said it was pretty easy. It should fulfill two requirements for me, both for my Computer Science Associate Degree from CTC and for my Liberal Arts Bachelor Degree from Excelsior. I hope, any
