IconX and AveDesk 1.2 conflict in Life, the Universe and Everything WinCustomize Forums

I had mentioned this in another topic I created about how to get drive info icons working, but I thought I'd post it here as a bug/support issue for better attention to the issue. Anyway....I recently installed AveDesk 1.2 to add shortcut icons etc to my desktop, but they weren't showing up and I tracked the problem to IconX. After I disabled IconX, the avedesk icons appeared. Not seeing any such thing here (xp pro sp2). Only General and Summary, and there's no "change icon" button on either tab.

Hmm, ok, erase that C: stuff from the Start in, I left all those blank. Put the C:\ at the top line where is says Path: this is where the shortcut points to.

Apparently I can save the individual icons from the .icl package with this Axialis IconWorkshop program, cool. Thanks for your help. ^_^

I'm actually not using icon packager, but rather the OEM manager thingie that came with the alienmorph download. I had some issues with icon packager in the past and haven't reinstalled it. Is there anyway to do that without having to install icon packager again?

Red33mer...I had that problem too, it wasn't going to my c drive...my problem was I had the slash backwards. Should be C:\ which works for me. If you go here https://www.stardock.com/support.asp you can enter your email address and you will get an email from stardock with a link to the download and the serial for the program. That's how I've gotten my enhanced versions of windowblinds and cursorxp. Yes they are showing in the control panel but I really have no idea why they aren't showing up on my desktop. And about the setting the icon, if I right click on a icon on my quick launch, I'm given the open to choose from all the icons in the .icl file, but with avedesk it will only let me choose an ico or png, and I'm not sure how to get to each individual icon in the icon packager pack. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Hmm.gif" bor

Well, I tried it but nothing is showing up on my desktop. o_O I can't seem to figure out how to choose the icon I want either, I'm using the AlienMorph icons and want it to use the right image for the hard drive, recycle bin, and etc.

Just open up paint or photoshop, and just press ctrl+v to paste the image. I'd also recommend IfranView to take screenshots. It will give you the option of taking a shot of your whole desktop, an individual window (like your browser, notepad, etc) or of a client area. Then after the shot has been taken you can just go to file > save as.
