Not all athethist take this stance that you do. I take equal offense at you trying to ram god down my throat no matter what name you call him. Yes, I find that living in the US, christianity is what is spoon-fed to you the most, but it is not the only thing. It is by far the oppiate of choice in the US, so it takes the most heat from "non-believers." Our forefather's did not put the word GOD on our money, in the pledge of alliegance, or in

I live in a very conservative midwest area, in fact, we are blamed for picking the president this time, and I do mean blamed. I am constantly involved in talk around the office, (by which I am on average 20 years younger than everyone here), and the want of a new party is very common. Americans, well non-republicans seem very disillusioned anymore by any of the political candidates out there. The Republicans only seem to care what you say if you can

There are two problems that do exist with this program. One you are taking tax payers money and using it to bus kids to church for a religious education. That is government sponsored religion which is strictly forbidden by the Constitution. Yes it is a pretty trite thing in this instance, but what if there are 10 jews in your town, or 10 islamics? Now you are taking their money and you are spending it on sending your kid to a christian education.

I did mention the first attack on the WTC, unless there was one before the truck bomb. But, no I didn't mention attacks on embassy, and the likes, because those are outside the borders of the US, and changing our internal laws has no effect on what happens there. The sniper attacks on DC, I do not consider a terrorist attack, I consider that the insanity of two people. I do not remember either of them saying it had a political agenda attached to it,

I can not stand the state of affairs in the United States anymore. We have a government that has gone haywire on the idea of security and terrorism. Let's go back and look at history very quickly before I go off on my rant. How many terrorist attacks have we had on this country in our first ~230 years of existance? The answer is 3. They are the truck bombing of

The biggest thing that you are overlooking that is an unsurmountable obsticle here. Europe is old world, every country has its own identity. Every ethinic group will fight for its survival. The only way to unite Europe under one rule is through conquest and domination. The countries of Europe will grow closer together, but I can not forsee Europe uniting under one solidarity of rule any quicker than you will see the rest of the planet unite under o

I would agree that prison system does not do enough to rehabilitate criminals during incarceration. But to completely eliminate all prisons, would leave a society with no recourse to disuade the evil acts that you are trying to prevent. Sure taking a child and sitting him down, and explaining to him what he did was wrong and why he shouldn't do it works. And if more people did that with their kids, instead of letting their TV raise them, several of

I just read a blog post off here from Scarlettaddams, and it reminded me of two things, and they are completely intertwined. The first being of my utter despise for the male female double standard of our society. The second being of one of my newest friends, (I have known her for a while, but only recently have we really gotten to be friends), how is the most "liber

Had a rather "interesting" night last night. Got a speeding ticket, found out an arrest from 12 years ago is still on my record, need to get that expunged ASAP. Thought I had paid someone to take care of that for me. None of that is really a big deal, but it did lead to me staying awake, and reflecting on my life. What have I accomplished: (for now I
