Thank you for all the comments. I located a number of mistakes was making First. I went back to the tutorial. I discovered that the production bar was based on 100% production. I had thought that since it defaulted to 50% that that was normal production and anything over that was overdriving the economy, costing me a lot of money. I am playing a game where the Ai seams to have a lot of advantage when it comes to influence. For example in one sector I have an influence of over 58000 and the AI has an influence of about 6000. But his planet in this sector has not revolted to my side, however on one of my planets where his influence was about 1600 and mine was 1400 my planet revolted, This has happened several times. I am having problems with strategy. I have played on easy to learn how to play and the game was as it said easy. I took over the universe by culture and a little war. However now I am trying on simple. All races set to sub normal, and I get creamed every game. Everyone goes to war with me and attacks every turn.
