not necessary...I never ever build anything but colony, freighter, constructor ships.. and win constantly on military victory masso, or any other level of game.. I never fire a shot
I think that this msg is getting way.. way off topic... psp pro 7 is a jasc product.. I suggest you go to their support forum.. which they probably have a link to from their home site.. http://www.jasc.com
bam bam...I agree not much can be seen to have changed.. however I believe that the code has been tweeked to such a degree with speed optimizations etc.. the mods folder, logistics, starbase limitations etc that if much more gets done to it that it'll (if it hasn't already) started to cause problems.. otherwise they would continue to make updates for GC as well.. they arn't stupid or mad... if it were feasable to keep making additions, tweeks then they would... its all educated guess work on my p
the map editor hogs the cpu.. and makes the entire system extremly sluggish I'm using an AMD 2400+ CPU with 512mb ram.. its barely usable on my system.. I certianly would not use it on a lesser system in this state... at the moment i'd rate it as unusable
You need to be a subscriber to Drengin package in order to d/load it.. as its a beta release. hope this helps
Me thinks that they have covert plans to make the suicidal level even harder to beat.. I've found AP easier to beat than GC... simply because there are more races to fight for the same space.. thus giving the player a better chance to develope... so I'm thinking that they are changing the difficulty levels to reflect this.. {I also expect more changes as its still about twice as easy to get the top score.. ie: to get a 60,000 score in GC i have to play maso gigantic rare tight.. wh
Hi, I've just played a full game using AP and noticed that there is no longer a suicidal level.. I set all of the AI's to the highest level and it comes up as a maso game.. I just scored a 60,000 game at this level on a huge tight rare map.. I must say that it is definatly quicker than GC to get a 60,000 score it seems very stable.. keep up the good work
works fine here... even loaded and continued an earlier AP 1.49 save game successfully
angered.... why???? here I am playing maso gigantic rare tight and still getting 60,000 / game... sure its harder.. bet then thats what maso was supposed to be... I commend Stardock for all the improvements that they've made to GalCiv... most other companyes DON'T .. generally all they do is put out 1 or 2 bug fix patches if that... StarDock however do STAND by the products that they sell.. and developement has to stop on older projects in order to allow budgets to be
dam beauroceracy.... now they've gone and made me a rear Admeral... all I want is a star ship and a crew to command her by... "A take off of the saying "All I want is a tall ship and stars to stear hr by) I've just got to keep command of my ship...
there are and have been many thoughts on how to do it... most of which have been delved into in the stratagies forum.. My method is far from the quickest.. it takes me on average 3 days to play it out.. I'll be posting my method on the "Star Fleet" web site http://starfleet.galciv.org/ someday soon (hopefully) its not a way to crank out games.. but it does achieve the highest scores possible on gigantic masso tight rare. most games finish approx year 2240.. an
Hint: don't abandon planets then... if you don't want it then give/trade it to the Computer players.. LOL its a ploy i use to weaken the computer players.. I comolize say a pq12 or lower then gift it to them.. they never refuse this in turn lowers their overall moral and makes them easier targets as well as raising your diplomatic relations with them... This Hint was was proudly brought to you by StarFleet http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=707
How good is it... what does it improve... any hints ???
step 1. open up regedit.exe step 2. open entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\Player" you will see all your listed aliases delete misspelled entry leaving the one('s) that you wish to leave active hope this helps This Tip proudly brought to you by StarFleet .. http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=707
maybe there is a bug.. where ALL survey capable ships are checked.. not just each empires ... ie: if another empire is already going to an anomily then maybe ALL other survey capable ships (no matter what empire) stops going for it.. which is what its beginning to sound like thats happening.. and it shouldn't.. each empire should have its own stack of all anomilies to search.. thus making it a race to the anomilies... I've also seen my survey ships bypass closer anomilies to go
that 47 days of no submitions was due to calciv crashing constantly on me.. :( but it seems ok now.. after fresh d/load and install
I've just submitted a v1.2 game successfully.. no probs...
Thanks ppl... much appreciated the empires score droped from 398815 ...........................to 378860 =============================..19955 none of the others in the empire have been playing as long as i have so I thought the the drop in the score would mainly be from me either way i still think it sucks that my score drops by 16907.even after submitting a 60,000 game ... the way I look at it... is that my score actually droped by 76,907 .. Sheesh talk about
winzp sp2 ??? I didn't know its out
Hi, I just posted a 60,000 masso game.. yet both my score and my empires score has dropped... Could those who know how the scoring works PLEASE show me why.. (I know opld scores degrade.. but I didn't think it would drop this much) I'd like to see how they calculate it.. and see why my score has acrually dropped by approx 20,000
Colony ships disband on unloading use transports to create a perminant transfer ship
There is a way to periodicly check to see if your score has turned anomilous.. (Zero) .. 1. Save the game regularly (usinga few different names/numbers.. eg: Mygame1,2,3,4 ) 2. after saving the game select retire from the main menu 3. check your score.. if your MVP = 0 then reload from a prevous save.. if not.. then reload the latest saved game and continue.. Doing these steps means that you won't waste a game.. it'll also help you narrow down what caused the bad
Why not repost the up to date links every to often... as 6 pages of msgs is a lot to have to read through to locate them... this is one reason I havn't tried them... (yeahhhh.. I know.. I'm lazy... but there are lots out there who see it like I do...)
Starbases are normaly devended by squadrons of fighters (look at babalon5 just to name one) so.... what you have to do is build ships to defend your starbases... and set them on guard duty on the starbase... Logistics are fine IF all players are subject to them.. at the moment though it looks like the AI's don't pay the fees when building starbases (I could be wrong though) As for big guns.. how much bigger do you want... build a terror star and crush planets... anything smalle
