No one is forcing them to try the betas.

"And just a little note for Stardock : lots of compagnies are paying to get beta testors. If you did'nt get all those ODNT subscribers (who for the most of them are enjoying to test new unworking versions of programs - for parts of them - and give you informations that you would'nt be able to find and solve on your own) what would your compagnie should have become ????" Yes, because it's such a chore to beta test, and people hate it, but only do it to help Stardock.... Who you kiddi
1)What skins do you like the best? Anything that's unique, creative and highly original. Also known as 'Anythihng not minimalist or Luna derived'... 2)Which ones you use the most? Same as above. I think I'm the only person who doesn't find creative skins to be totally unusable. 3)Who do you want to see again skinning something? Anything? Chad Rumbut. He was my first big influence in skinning, and I miss seeing his stuff. 4)What do you think ab
Don't understand why you can't just abide by the established site rules and cover the wall up a bit. You're making a big deal out of nothing. It's not like millions of people are going to be upset because they can't see the complete wall. If it means so much to you, put a lnik to the wall in the descriptions. It's not neccesary to make a drama out of something trivial.
The star is to highlight OB as 'featured app'. Apparently it's an old feature, but wasn't properly implimented untill recently in SDC.
I loved your latest upload. I left a 0 rating on it. Congrats on the milestone, btw. [Message Edited]
1. Alien abduction. 2. Too long.... 3. When someone uploads a nice, well made skin. 4. The attitude of people on the board when they all pounce on someone who's not particularly ingratiated themselves by posting an annoying or controversial thread. It suddenly turns into 'Get your opinion in' day. Also, the death of all OS ports. 5. A bar. 6. I can't find the way out.
I think WB and GTK don't play so well together. Try excluding GIMP from being skinned by WB, and it should fix the problem.
Anyone remember what this thread was supposed to be about?
If you were previously at a level 3 user status, then the reinstallation of Windowblinds would have no effect on the account level. The programs themselves send absoloutely no information back to this website, so even if you removed them entirely, you should still be level 3.
Yeah, always gotta check the zip. Never know what you might get caught in there.....
Hehehe, people have missed the subtle point of the original post....
They're taken from the running applications, so you'll need to use a resource hacker program to open the exe file of each one and replace all the icon files manually.
First LS theme I ever used. Blew me away when I ran it.
I aboloutely loved kaleidoscope themes. They were more in the style of skin I always try to produce. The 'gimmicky' themed type, rather than usuable blah. In my early days I used to spend a lot of tmie at the site just looking for inspiration, even did a few personal ports as well. It's a shame the level of creatvity displayed in that scene is very rare these days.
Don't feel too dissapointed if no-one bothers to even reply after me.......
You're planning on converting 490 icon packages??
There's one called Foobar that seems to be gaining a bit of popularity, and is very good on memory. Don't have a link but a few folk here use it, so perhaps one of them can link to it here.
"Especially when the disclaimer says that any and all images can have the potential to be used in future skin packs to be sold...." Very innacurate. There's a checkbox on the upload form that either says you agree or don't with allowing your uploads to be included on skin CD's any point in the future. If you don't agree, just don't check the box.
"i am apparently 'logged in' even tho i dont have an account! " That would put you at 'visitor' user level. "i doubt if i have d/l'd more than 15MB over the course of an entire YEAR!" Visitor level people can only D/L 5 Meg before having to create an account here, which is free to do. You were talking about greed? [Message Edited]
Well, obviously if this idea became reality and proved succesful, the review team would be privvy to free copies of premium suites I'd say so they could do the reviews.
premium skins and suites, are sorely lacking any available commentary Yeah, I do agree with that part. Let's people get a better insight into a premium suite they want to buy, that a few screenshots can't give them. That way they know beforehand what the suite may include, or indeed be lacking, plus any niggles and bugs that slipped thr
One name that frequently comes up in the Sardock irc channel is Shawn Murdock. A few of us are big fans of his stuff, and for a while it looked like he was gearing up to get back into things, only to to vanish again.
I think it's a great idea, and one that I myself have brought up a few times on the Stardock irc channel, asking why there is no such site already. There's one for Mac themes, so a Windows one would be good. I think the best process would be to allow skin authors to submit skins for review, rather than pick random ones. We all know how fragile and superficial the skinner ego can be, and the last thing you want is a ton of hatemail and some kind of psycho sustained campaign, bad
I fit all three criteria.
