Hoverdesk isn't a shell. It's a desktop enhancement, like DesktopX and NextStart. It can be run as a shell though, and a lot of users do that, but you don't have a systray, and you lose your startup items too when you boot up. There's a section in the helpfile by Moshi on setting HvD up as a shell, and how to use a 3rd party systray with it. I've used the majority of the shells available, and I'd always reccomend Litestep over everything else.

You can't, it has to be part of the skin, otherwise the default Xp one will show up. You can, however, change the size to 1x1, and fill it with the same colour as the very topmost line of pixels in the shutdown dialog bg. This will hide it.

My first copy of WB was a crudely constructed replica made from cardboard and cheese. Sadly the cheese wouldn't stick to the monitor properly, and for the brief minutes that it would, I'd have to slide it around when I moved a window. Thus came about the purchase of my copy......

The moral of Matt's story is don't pay 200 for one of his drawings, cause they're only worth 25!!! (This is where the laughing and winking icon would go if they worked.......)

While I can see a side of Stephen's argument, the bit that annoys me is the way you put it across as you bought OD products, and now other people are required to make the skins. I bought a car, I don't expect other people to drive me around in it. On the premium skin matter, Mike and I at Skinplant made 17 or so skins for our first premium suite. If we hadn't been making it to sell, we would have probably made 5 or 6 skins, and spent about a 3rd the time on it.(I think we spent

#38 by Citizen anthony roberts - 6/11/2003 5:51:17 PM This article posted recently about sums it all up Please, the guy took a shot at Henry Rollins in there too. That article is worth crap, it's just that fella's opinion. Never understood the big 'Metallica sold out' thing that goes on. They're just 4 guys that play music

I, for one, am glad there's no solo's. Kirk Hammet is too much of a widdley fretwanker. He only pulls truly good stuff out of the bag on the more longer epic songs, like One, Unforgiven and Fade to Black. The low point of a Metallica gig is when Hamster-boy inveitably does his solo spot. Only picked up when Jason joined him with his bass for a while. Not that I'm saying he's crap, not by far, but his solo's are a bit blah, especially when he's doing improv.
